While investigating reports of possible dark cultists in one of the border cities of the Generic Kingdom, Juliette, George, and Lucas followed a lead to an abandoned village three miles outside the city. There, they were ambushed by the cultists they had been hunting, known as the Children of Kygenis. The trio fought valiantly and defeated many, but the cultists eventually gained the upper hand, leaving them surrounded, exhausted, and with damaged weapons. Cut off from any path of escape, they faced the advancing cultists, the weight of the unknown pressing in as the circle closed tightly around them.
