I love all those fine details - like the road sign, the little moments, the care and dedication of THAT ED - My word! - it’s all so wonderful! The storytelling in this is just wonderful! 2026-02-03 04:51:38 +0000 UTCI know my comment is late, so I will make it short. The first episode shows the qualities we love about this show beyond the beautiful art and wonderful soundtrack. It gets you re-immersed into the show like we never left. First the attention to details: The road signs that you can actually read! Most anime would have had it just as scribbles but we can read it. Frieren likes to kick her legs like a little kid at time and she was doing it during the bathing scene again. And the constant growth of the characters and willingness to revisit the past. Even the recent past like Fern looking at the bracelet being afraid as Stark carrying her to safety. It has just the best storytelling I am like you , so happy that Frieren is back! I enjoyed your insights and thoughts like I always do when watching an anime here with you. My brother and I are watching this together again and I usually chat about watching your reaction with him because you have such good thoughts on the series. (I would tell him to become a patreon of you but I joke that he has the baby chicken method of spending money: Cheep, cheep, cheep haha)

Yes, “take your time!” And yes, agree with Isaac on the creators’ health taking priority! The animation, especially the flashback, is so gorgeous this episode - and I appreciate the OP as well – the visuals for both really are so “positive,” as you said! That is SUCH a good point about Stark and Fern – Fern is more than likely the one thinking about those things rather than our poor innocent dude. Oohhhh, that is a really good point about the demons and how the people in the north could be a benefit! I wonder if there’s a chance someone could destroy that monster in the cave and then harvest the crystals? Leaving that plot point open seems…an interesting concept to put on the back burner! And yes, Love that we’re picking up where we left off and excited to see what we’re going to get! Thank you for the comment!

2026-01-24 15:21:08 +0000 UTCYou know what, we are so back... if only for 10 episodes, although the first season was mad for doing 28 episodes of that quality. But if not only for the quality of the show but for everyone working on it not getting worked to the bone and having that good work/life balance, take your time people. Now if it's like Isaac says and they are slowing down because the creators of the manga are on hiatus due to health issues i can only wish them good health and good fortune. Speaking of quality i really appreciate how this show really animates the small moments with such care and attention to detail, makes them feel more real and impactful. The song might not have been fully to my tastes but i really loved the visuals of the OP, and Milet hit right on the mark for the ED once more, really gets you in that... positive? slightly melancholic mood. :P Might have said it before but as we judge others after ourselves and with how many times has she called him a perv now, me thinks Fern is the one thinking about "stuff" more than poor Stark. The crystals are a intriguing addition that can come back in all kinds of interesting ways, but i feel they really didn't highlight what the discovery of that cave would entail, beyond the monetary it seems to me like a really strategically important resource. If the north is in a war with demons this might be something worth knowing about, and with every demon we have seen being a magic user of some kind, these crystals should be a real benefit for humans, no? A really good first episode and it does really feel that we just picked up where we left off, looking forward to the rest of the season and i know we are in good hands.

The deep trust between people, be it platonicly (Frieren and her party) or romanticly (Fern and Stark). Also making it clear that the feelings between Stark and Fern are very mutual. Both have each others back and are the light in darkness for each other. Seeing that is just beautiful.... And thinking that probably Frieren also was that literally for Himmel since childhood makes me tear up a little bit just right now

2026-01-21 15:55:17 +0000 UTCNo spoilers Some bts about the manga, Kanehito Yamada (does story) and Tsukasa Abe (does art work) haven’t released a chapter since oct 14, 2025 and the manga is on a indefinite hiatus till further notice. They only released 8 in the whole year, one mangaka can average 35-50 chapters on a weekly and biweekly schedule for a year. Mad house studio chose to only release 10 episodes this time around so they won’t catch up to the manga only problem is we aren’t gettin new chapters at the moment. Hope both the queens are doing well. There is no info on if someone is sick or what the reason is for the very little release the last two years. 32 million copies in circulation. It would break my heart for it to not get a ending. ADHD comment sorry. Update Supposedly the hiatus is due to the health of both creators
