The match most of us have been waiting for is here: Togame vs. Sakura! And it has NOT disappointed! Togame is such a wonderfully layered character and it's so good to see multiple sides of him in this -- I'm so invested in this match up and our stray cat-coded "Othello-kun" matching him in this episode!

Togame's found family 😭 Togame was really that introvert who got adopted by an extrovert lol the op visuals are very nice and the song is a huge bop, i listened to it so much last year... lmao the garden of eden, the seduction of the tomato 😂 That shot of Suo dropping down with a kick in the op was actually what got me into windbreaker! I saw a gif of it online and thought "i gotta see this" horticulture power... reminds me of this old asdf tree power clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OyDK98w77M I like the fight choreo, when Sakura kicked or pushed Togame's arm away, or flipped over him... basically I like how we can see that they have different fighting styles and it's not just one sort of punches or kicks and tanking "he gets a little bit upset" *gives Sakura concussion* so brutal, this fight is on another level compared to the previous ones... if this was not an anime, there's gonna be several concussions and broken ribs going around ... Sakura... it's not healthy to get hit in the head that much... Sound design is great! I agree with the dead silence and that fight song is great too ("Higher I'll Go) The middle schooler thing is interesting cuz I only noticed on rewatch - when they first met in ep3, Togame arrived after the other guys and then Hiragi told Togame that the Shishitoren members were chasing "our guys", so Togame never knew it was an uninvolved middle schooler and thought it was just a fight between Furin and Shishitoren. Togame: sorry for the interruption, had some technical difficulties that I needed to beat out Sakura has been so confused the past few days lol Sakura doesn't know the backstories, he just knows this guy fought for serious, went down to beat some of his teammates and then came back up to beat him halfheartedly lol. Togame is one of my favorites from WB... it was hard to not spoil you on his actual personality before this episode haha the green eyes and kinda fluffy black hair are also a great look hehehe I like the geta analysis, had not thought of it before Togame got so mad... but that moment when choji didn't care about the shishitoren guys getting beaten up and just told him to continue to fight, when Togame paused and we couldn't see his face... that was sad 😭

Sugi not known for monologues... I'm curious of what would happen if we put Sugi who only grunts with Sako who barely responds in a room together... they might end up fighting due to the difference in whom they admire lmao ah Togame... a loyal dedicated soul willing to suffer to protect his team and his sun...

And that thumbnail is one of my favourite Togame frames, that profile is everything. 🥰 Various things I loved: Agree with loving how gruesome the fight was in this episode. My “favourite” was Sakura rolling around trying to avoid being stomped on 😅 Togame going: “I want to take my time and enjoy this” - they just can’t give us a break 😆 Nirei trying to handle watching the fights continues to be the most relatable Also, memory is a funny thing 😆 – back in episode 3 you came to the conclusion about the Othello game yourself as soon as it came up. Loved the analysis of Togame’s entire outfit! Never considered the sandals > geta progression in those terms before! 🥰 “Sugi isn’t known for his monologues” – I pictured a Sugi-face reaction to that 🤣 Togame choosing to get “covered in mud” for Choji and Shishitoren is just such a beautiful reveal for a character. And I particularly loved how sensitive Togame was to any slight against his “devotion” – because how dare anyone imply he hasn’t sacrificed and suffered for his dedication. Would definitely have fun playing Wind Breaker bingo in the future. 😆 Cannot wait for next week! Rule of 8! 🌸
