WIND BREAKER: Episode 6 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*FOLLOWING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This episode was SO much fun and such a sight to see - Sako and Hirage have history and this episode lets them duke it out and come to terms with that history -- proving just how "reliable" each are and leading us one step closer to the "main events" of this brawl set up! I'm so invested in this!

WIND BREAKER: Episode 6 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Thank you for the comment and kind words! SO much drama, indeed! The shenanigans between Sakura, Nirei, and Suo will always be endearing to me! I love Ume’s confidence in…well, everyone! It’s great! The fight choreo has been so great so far in this between each match - and yes, Hiragi and his “romantic sack of potatoes!” XD The shipper goggles are…Ahem, practically ready to get clued on at this point! And yes, I love that description of Hiragi and Sako’s relationship in this! Such a good point of conversation in this, so thank you for the kind words and for adding this part, yourself! 😀 The next few weeks should be lots of fun!

I love how the titles are flowing into the content of this series! That’s such a good point about Sakura not resisting that hug TOO much! XD And Suo definitely enjoys teasing Sakura!! I also love “turn to stone” Nirei mode! The background we got with Sako and Hiragi was good in this episode! And yes, the OST is doing wonders for this series for sure! I could so see that fun fact section with Hiragi! But of course him and Sako get the classic “breakup” scenario. Thank you for the comment - this episode was so much fun!

the title of this episode really ties it together... "vow to follow" for both sako following hiragi and hiragi following umemiya... i like how nirei was holding sakura back with something almost like a hug lol and sakura, while resisting, didn't resist too hard to try and push through meanwhile suo just having the time of his life teasing sakura lol the turn to stone nirei was big mood it was funny when even shishitoren's impression of sako was that he doesn't talk much and he fights well, i guess no one here outside of hiragi saw sako's innocent puppy phase the fight choreo for this ep was so good! i also like the sound mix, esp that sound when sako did that roundhouse kick in slow-mo. the ost is also very nice! random hiragi fact that's not plot relevant but it shows up in this ep: he likes rock music (hence leather pants, those pins on the bag, that ipod (?) for listening to music) yeah that was quite the breakup... with cherry blossom flying in the breeze too, a bridge they did not cross together... i like your analysis of hiragi saying he cannot live up to sako's expectations having many implications, not just the "can't be at the top" part. their relationship is complicated... difficult feelings and not clear enough communication, esp from sako's part, and all of these feelings got let out and communicated through this fight on stage in front of all these bystanders having no idea what's their history 😅 that moment when hiragi carried sako down and then placed him so gently on the ground... that's when he shot up the ranks in my fav list yeah, get a man who can treat you gently and protect you when you're knocked out (nevermind he's the one who knocked you out)

Loved the reaction and discussion! So much tender drama in this episode! 🥰 Various things I loved: Nirei having to hold Sakura back about half a dozen times, never gets old 😆 Shishitoren being surprised about this side of Sako Ume’s quiet confidence in Hiragi Nirei’s reactions, always – just adore this little bean 🥰 And yes, the soundtrack is really stunning! The fight! So much fun, love how different the flavour is to the others we have seen Hiragi placing Sako on the ground so gently “Romantic sack of potatoes” 🤣 All the shipper goggle struggles in this episode, I feel you – especially with that little “confession” scene on the river bank, classic. Most of all, I think this was the episode that really made me sit up and appreciate how delicately crafted the writing is. Hiragi and Sako’s relationship is presented like some kind of micro-symphony of affection, responsibility, fear, gratitude, disappointment, rejection, acceptance, protectiveness. I think what I really love, is that they could have stopped the narrative emotional thread at so many points e.g. making it a story of Hiragi deciding not to be a leader and that being disappointing to Sako, or Hiragi wanting Sako to find his own strength and sacrificing their relationship for that wish, or Sako wanting to see Hiragi improve and Hiragi being afraid of not being able to rise to Sako’s expectations, etc. They could have chosen a single thread and followed that and it would have worked beautifully, but instead, it is all of those things and more. Taking their story even further to Sako simply wanting to follow Hiragi and wanting Hiragi to want that, too? Layers upon layers upon layers! I adore it. And really excellent discussion around all of these threads! 🥰 Cannot wait for next week! 🌸
