Zhou Zishu has gone this whole series pushing down his emotions, but things finally boil over and it's Wen KeXing's turn to be the support!
Gu Xiang and Wen KeXing are learning about the art of caring for others and that love is possible -- is it too late for them, though, as rumors concerning their involvement in the Ghost Valley are spreading?! This is such a beautiful, emotional episode that I was not expecting!

Yessss, I agree that there weren’t a lot of crazy twists or action but the emotional “blooming” was sensational! It feels so wild to be going back to the beginning for ZZS - the callbacks to episode 1 are incredible! “You can feel the evolution” with WKX and ZZS - I 100% agree! And that description of rebuilding?! Ahhhh, that speaks to my soul! I am in love and obsessed with romantic scenes that are so simple and domestic - I just love how intimate and domestic it is and they’re just being themselves without judgment - yes! ZZS has let “someone in,” and I’m swooning for the moments between them in this! Definitely an emotional turning point and right where we need it! They’ve come so far since Episode 1 for sure and this feels like a major check point. Ugh, CWN and GX are such a duo in this, aren’t they? I feel for GX being torn about her identity and fearing CWN leaving her. Everything you said are my thoughts with GX and her sweet golden retriever of a man! I love how opposites attract with them and they balance each other out so well – but with the genders reversing for them from what we see in so many other stories. And yes, even if she’s having a happy ending potential with CWN, the reality of her identity is looming in this and what’s at stake outside of their happy relationship. At least Shen Shen is there and YES, the “Bro’est of Bros” indeed! 😛 I love how much his character has grown as well in this series, but I’m curious what Gu Xiang will end up doing from here alongside CWN, but your description of them both I am nodding and in total agreement with! And yes, CWN offering her that support is so new to her, but I hope she’s able to accept it as the story moves forward! I agree, too, that they are a mirror to WKX and ZZS - them as “younger and more chaotic” is a great example and it reminds me of a BL anime where there’s multiple couples haha! I just hope they can ease each other’s pain, too! They all deserve happiness, indeed! It doesn’t have a ton of big action or crazy twists, but emotionally? It’s probably one of the most important episodes so far. Seeing Zhou Zi Shu return to the ruins of his past—where all his people died, where his old life basically ended—it’s heavy. And the way Wen Kexing reacts? He doesn’t push, doesn’t lecture, just quietly chooses to stay with him. He even talks about rebuilding the place. Not just physically—like, he wants to help Zi Shu heal. All those little things from earlier episodes, you can feel the evolution now. In this episode, they’re literally in ruins (like, physically standing in Four Seasons Manor), and instead of just pretending they’re fine, they sit in that pain together. Also I think the manor, neglected and decayed over many years, perfectly reflects Zhou Zi Shu’s emotional state. But Wen Kexing isn’t just sympathizing—he’s like, “Let’s rebuild it,” and that hit me. It's more than fixing a house—it’s him saying, “Let’s rebuild you.” And then the bed scene? It’s not romantic in an obvious way, but there’s this quiet care and closeness that says everything. Zi Shu’s finally breaking down, letting himself be seen, and Wen Kexing is just there. No judgment, just support. It’s the first time Zi Shu really lets someone in like that, and it’s kind of beautiful. Honestly, this episode feels like the emotional turning point. Not much fighting or dramatic twists—just honesty, grief, healing, and the first real step toward peace for both of them. It makes you realize how far they’ve come since episode 1. Also, can we talk about Cao Wei Ning and Gu Xiang for a sec? Because they’re lowkey breaking my heart too—especially in this episode. Gu Xiang’s inner conflict is so real. You can tell she’s constantly torn between the world she came from (Ghost Valley) and this growing, awkward, genuine love she’s feeling for Cao Wei Ning. Like, she wants to believe she can have something good, something normal—even happiness—but she’s always holding back, like she doesn’t believe she deserves it. And then there’s Wei Ning, who just… loves her without hesitation. He doesn’t care about her past. He treats her with this open, innocent affection that she clearly doesn’t know how to handle. It’s like he’s this beam of sunlight in her life that she’s half-afraid to stand in too long. The contrast between them is honestly so striking—Gu Xiang is sharp, defensive, always ready to run if things get too real. Meanwhile, Cao Wei Ning is this soft, steady presence who just shows up for her, no judgment, no hesitation. You can see her slowly letting her guard down around him, but it’s like she doesn’t quite know how to trust that kind of love yet. There’s also this really intense moment where Gu Xiang is watching from a distance as these clan guys are beating up this dude Zhu Yao Zhi just because he won’t agree to the lies that Gao Chong is bad and tied to Wen Kexing and the Ghost Valley. You can tell it really unsettles her — this isn’t just some random fight, it’s a brutal reminder that her past is always lurking, and that there are people who want to expose her and everything she’s trying to hide. Then Shen Shen (the bro'est bro) swoops in and rescues the guy, breaking up the fight. It’s a small but powerful moment that shows just how messy and dangerous the world around Gu Xiang is. She’s stuck in this battle between who she is — from Ghost Valley — and who she wants to be, someone who can have a normal life. Watching that violence unfold, you can see she’s scared but also torn, like part of her wants to run but another part is maybe starting to want to face it. Meanwhile, Cao Wei Ning is waiting for her elsewhere, quietly trusting and believing in her no matter what. His love is steady and unconditional, even when she’s wrestling with all this darkness and doubt. That kind of unwavering support is probably one of the hardest things for Gu Xiang to accept — but also the thing that might help her heal the most. Honestly, I love how their relationship is this mirror of Wen Kexing and Zhou Zi Shu, but on a younger, more chaotic level. Where Zi Shu is resigned and closed-off, Gu Xiang is fiery and defensive—but both of them are trying to navigate love while carrying a lot of pain. And in both cases, they’re being loved by someone who looks beyond all the scars and just sees...them. Can’t wait to see how things turn out for them. They all really deserve some happiness. Also, I saw you mentioning you don’t see a lot of comments from us on this series (at least for the last couple of episodes) but just so you know—we do enjoy the show a lot!
