In this Kathrine didn’t find out via Elena following Stefan or Damon calling her. Jenna told Katherine. I hate how they leave Elena out of the loop.

Despite the fact that he was working with Katherine, I still dont think he needed to die. The fact that he hid the moonstone in a vervain well shows just how little he trusted her. I feel like they could've flipped him against Kat if Damon wasn't being an impulsive idiot. I also dont like the way Damon kept emphasizing that Mason was a werewolf as if werewolves are just inherently violent and vamps arent lol

The pain, the anguish from empathetic compassionate nature was completely illustrated on his face in that scene WOW!!! Even his lips were quiver. I thought this was in the next ep, im soo glad I was surprised by that amazing scene once again. PAUL WESLEY REALLY DOES THIS SHIT. I love how y'all empathize for Matt. Most hoed character thus far along with caroline #MattGang

This revelation definitely hurt him and turned that love into hate but here’s a thing hate is not the opposite of love but indifference is. Hate still indicates caring and feeling. Hate and love can walk side by side and the line between them could get blurry sometimes, so in order for Damon to get over Katherine and get her completely out of his heart, He needs to get to the absolute place of indifference towards her and in order for him to do that, He needs to set his priorities straight. In this episode he let his hatred for Katherine got in a way a little and that indirectly caused pain for Elena. That woke him up to this question: which one of these is more important to him? His hatred for Katherine or his love for Elena? Damon is driven by love he would always choose love over anything else any time. He’s becoming more and more aware of the depth of his feelings for Elena. When he called Elena’s name in the last scene he didn’t know she was crying and the moment Elena turned around and Damon saw her teary face, you can see Damon literally broke and his eyes also started to get teary. In that moment he realised Katherine is not worth it, she isn’t even worth the hate and anger specially if that’s gonna cause harm for the people he cares about and he was also able to realise how much his priorities has changed and shifted from Katherine to Elena. The most important thing to him right now is Elena’s wellbeing and happiness and he would do absolutely anything to make those tears go away. Katherine made things even more personal with him because before it was only about what Katherine did to him and the fact that she broke his heart but now that she stared to hurt the people he cares about, Damon can not have any of that. If you pay attention to his facial expressions after Elena said” she won, Katherine won”, you can see how his face changed from hurt to anger. The anger he’s feeling right now is no longer about his heart break, it’s about the fact that Katherine started to cause pain to people he loves and now he wants to stop her to make sure she doesn’t win this time.

But Damon trying to stop Katherine so sooner or later Mason will do her bidding. Now thanks to Damon he will never get that chance .

He wasn't just gonna give it up lol, although he definitely was being extra and that was obviously because he was pissed about the whole Liz situation. As for killing him, in his defense yes...as soon as Mason snitched, it was kill or be killed so Damon just got to him first before he could. And he was working with Katherine ofc, so he couldn't be trusted period.
