Whiskey Wednesday (National Bourbon Month)
Added 2023-09-27 20:14:49 +0000 UTCThe wonderful thing about Las Vegas is that I can feel like I'm on vacation and not really go anywhere. Nothing does that like some time at the pool and the spa, then spend a wonderful evening at dinner. This was a pool day at Delano and dinner at a wonderful local restaurant called Ferraro's Italian.
I started off the evening with a Basil Hayden Bourbon. This is one that has grown on me, especially because it seems to be more readily available in Vegas. Sometimes, I don't like to experiment too much with my bourbon when I know I'm going to finish with something else like wine. It's a light bourbon without a lot of different flavors, but it sat well with a delicate wine that I had with my meal.
This was a fun dinner which started off with Gamberi Marechiaro, which is shrimp with spinach and tomatoes. The next item on the tasting menu was a Gnocchi on a wonderful spinach puree. The last item was Grigliata Mista di Pesce which was grilled salmon with scallops, asparagus, and roasted potatoes. Delish!
