Robes, frogs, more tutorial work

Made up some new novice robes for the monastery intro. I used some of the inquisitor robes' sculpt as a base and then filled in the missing pieces of the sculpt. Still need to do the body types and then get this rigged.

I also went back to the frog ladies and messed a bit more with her proportions and shapes. I'm still figuring out exactly how far I can push forms but still make it fit with the art style. But I'm pretty happy with where she's getting to. I'll do a detail pass, finish her hands and feet, and then give her some base clothing soon.

And still chipping away at the monastery tileset. It's so much easier to keep everything square and linear in shape so that's it's easier to snap together but then it loses a lot of vitality and flow to the shapes. I'm still figuring this out. It seems like it's a balance between the ease of putting pieces together vs. the visual look of curves and swoopy shapes? I dunno I've still got a lot to learn on environments. The good news is that I'm still progressing forward and I can always come back and polish / update old environment pieces in the future.

So yeah, I'm going to jump over to dialogue trees and then try to get the character presets done for the monastery NPCs. Then finish up the monk robes after that.

I can dig it! Once I get a bit of spare time to work on a sculpt I'll put something together. Thanks for the suggestion!

Something that I just thought of: the monks should have hoods when working outside! In addition to adding protection from the sun, I think that they would look cool. I'm mostly imagining the monks from fallout 1 & 2, except without the purple robes. What do you think?
