Hey there everyone!
Today we have some new updates to share with you about the games. Let's have a look at that!
We hope you enjoyed the chapter finale and the underwater labs! We tried a few new things with these bits of content and further expanded the combat system to support new types of scenarios.
On the topic of the combat system, I'm currently exploring a way to make squad member skills more dynamic. Currently, a squad member has a static and predefined set of skills, and over time it is not possible to grant them new or alternate skills, let the player have any sort of control over them, and well, basically anything.
In Silent Echo, evolutions hide this quite well from a player perspective, but the limitation is very visible on Starwatch where it isn't designed with evolution stages in mind, but rather natural progression through experience and personal events.
A good example in Silent Echo too is Emilia's heal, which has remained the same since Chapter 1 and still provides a 20 points heal to this day, or even Emilia still using her little peashooter despite someone like Victoria has an SMG (slimegirls stronk?).
I think it's a pretty good area where to spend some effort, and it will allow us to do more fun things in Chapter 4.
With that out of the way, we've started sorting out the tasks for the next update, 0.3.5 which will contain the interlude to Chapter 4 and a last set of changes to Chapter 3, such as the missing female scenes for double and trio drone encounters.
In a previous post and following the community poll about the clothing system simplification, we're happy to share with you our efforts on that side of the game.
Above is a look at the new female paperdoll we'll be using for Starwatch and future projects. We redesigned it completely from scratch and added new customization options that worked well in Silent Echo, such as makeup and tattoos, and even some new hair styles.
We've also finished recreating all of the existing outfits, and now that it will be much easier to do, we'll be adding new ones in the subsequent update.
For now that's all we have to share about the game, we'll have more to say soon!
The winning option is "Silent Echo: Exogen Christmas Party"!
The artwork and the associated short story will be posted Monday. The in-progress version is quite hot ;)
The team will take a well deserved holiday break, as it's been quite some time since we last took any.
2025 has been a really amazing year. Experiments yielded fantastic results, efforts were fruitful and the games are better than ever. All three of us are very excited to continue this journey with you, and boy do we have a lot of things in stores for you.
None of this would have been possible without the financial support we get from you.
At the time of this post, we're barely 150 euros away from our goal of 3k euros a month, which is our target to reach financial stability and have the team function in the long run. For a very long time, this seemed like wishful thinking, today it's an achievable goal.
On top of that, we've seen an amazing community come together on Discord, with banter, memes, interesting discussions and speculation about the games, detailed feedback and suggestions, and in general a really sweet atmosphere that really wouldn't make you think you're posting in a discord about some adult game.
Thanks for everything. We wish you some happy holidays, a nice Christmas and New Year, and we're very excited to get into 2026 with you!
See you soon!
