September Blog!

Hello everyone.

I'm back, and this time I've actually finished all the tasks I was assigned to do in Italy.

From now on, I just want to focus on PBB, which I've missed so much!

I'll try to show you everything I did between August and September because it's quite interesting, but it'll take me time to collect the photos and explain everything, because you're not in Italy and you don't know many things about my country.

Let's go in order. In the meantime, I'll announce that the documentary I participated in, the one about the anime and manga Love Me Knight - Kiss Me Licia - Ai shite Naito, by Kaoru Tada, is out on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79UDSPQrltA

I don't know if you can turn on the English subtitles...sorry if you don't understand anything! The documentary is an hour long, and I do a few speaking parts.

Thomas Centaro is the the author, director, and actor who played Mirko/Go Kato on stage! I went to see the musical at his invitation.

It's important to know that my role in this documentary was to represent a "kidult," so I had a very playful and fun attitude, this is my character.

However, I talk about very serious things, such as explaining what the manga is, the adaptations, the character design...and why Licia/Yakko-chan was blonde in the opening and instead brunette in the episodes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyjcysOeBG0&list=RDwyjcysOeBG0&start_radio=1

Plus the curiosities and memorabilia of this anime that has driven Italians crazy, and the live action made in Italy!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xOFnogie4s&list=RD5xOFnogie4s&start_radio=1

It's really difficult for shy and reserved people do this, but those people are my peers and friends, and I know the Italian public of my age appreciates these things!

I've never had haters or been bullied for these passions of mine, never, not even at school. Maybe because I look like I don't care, haha, XD, but essentially in Italy, Gen Xers are protected species like Apennine wolves XD, they form a pack, have fun together, and share all their nerdy passions—we're the nostalgic ones! Maybe the problems started with cyberbullying, but in my day it didn't exist, and now I'm an adult, I don't care about judgments.

Now about the images you see in this post!

Clara Serina, the 80-year-old woman you see in the photo, is a famous singer and composer of cartoon theme songs of my generation. Together with her family—her husband, sister, and son—she was part of the group I Cavalieri Del Re. They created Italian adaptations of anime theme songs, but they remade them FROM SCRATCH, completely different and original. She also sang the theme songs for the two anime series she gave me as reference for creating her first mascot: Princess Nightingale/ La Principessa Usignolo.

By Nightingale refers to the bird, Luscinia Megarhynchos, not to pioneer nurse Florence Nightingale...

Now, I merged the references she gave me. They are two heroines from shoujo manga and anime from the shouwa era: Akko Chan and Hanī Hanī no suteki na bōken, in Italy Stilly and the Magic Mirror and The Fantastic Voyages of Fiorellino.

This is because in the first episode Akko/Stilly uses the magic mirror to become a princess in her first test transformation, while Hanī Hanī/Fiorellino will reveal herself to be a princess in the last episode!

So I merged the two characters, and I made the dress also inspired by the style of Berusaiyu no bara / The Roses of Versailles, another theme song sung by Clara Serina, and that's why there are roses.

In addition, Clara has dyed her hair aquamarine blue and everyone says she has a nightingale voice!

Clara then presented her original character, created by me, at a Japanese anime, manga, and collectors' festival. She sang in concert and signed posters and postcards. There were also some stickers for the bundle.

So to conclude, I'll leave you with the links to the songs and theme songs sung by Clara Serina for these anime.

Do you like my work for her? She LOVE it! And also her fans!

So, don't worry, right now I'm working on the new PBB page, but there will be more stories like these because I've done other things that are just as interesting... if not MORE! But for now...that's enough! Until Christmas, I just want to work on PBB!

Awesome! :D I watched the documentary. So the hair change was a simple mistake? And they gave the cat a speaking role in the Italian version? Oh, and that version went on for 145 episodes!? Oh my, that show was indeed popular! Damn. You were one lucky kid. No bullying. Sounds like a dream. :') And stellar work on your work for Clara Serina! I'm just a pleb, but it must have been high praise you've gotten from Clara! It must be an amazing feeling, being able to give back meaningfully to someone who has meant so much to you in your youth. :) Anyway, looking forward to the new PBB page! Now let's see what Hans and George will do to poor William. :P
