My wife and I both try to let both our kids be comfortable telling us/showing us anything they are feeling without judgment. We both grew up very differently, but I can only speak for myself and say that until about 12 years ago I thought anger and indifference were the only "acceptable" emotions men got to show.

I especially like that he seems comfortable identifying and speaking about his feelings.. that is a special quality (and sadly a bit rare) in young boys.
