You are the captain of your own ship!!

That’s what the posters in the break room are work say. But no, not Carl. If it was possible to be a passenger in the ship of your own life, he found a way. A man of 5’8, though you’d think him even shorter the way he holds himself, shoulders hunched, back slouched, shuffling from place to place.

Average. That’s a great term for Carl. An average job in middle management, an average apartment, an average body, and an average face, slightly greying beard, a bit early for his mid 30s age. His average willpower always allowing him to THINK of more, to yearn for it, but no follow thru!

He COULD put some muscle on! He flexes his thin arms thinking it’d be incredible to show off big meaty muscles, maybe then he’d be looked at! Maybe he could get some abs, or big pecs! But he always puts it off! It’s always “next Monday!” But that future comes and goes.

So he sits there at night, alone in the office, the “Hang in there” kitty giving him some sense of hope. Wanting more, staring at his pale thinly haired chest, wanting so much more but never wanting to make that move!

If only there was something..someone who could reach him! Inspire him! Unlock the potential within…..
