Our new pointer is "Chibi Dragon Pointer"!

It was made to coincide with the "Year of the Dragon," the Chinese zodiac sign of the Chinese zodiac.

I had intended to distribute it in January, but I was busy for a long time and could not distribute it in the New Year.

The style of the artwork was strongly influenced by "Monster Guardians" for the Game Boy Advance.

I recommend "Monster Guardians" because the pixel art are really cute and cool!

Sorry for the delay in the end of the year and New Year's greeting and for this one as well...!

I am a freckle girl, a dragon girl that I created in a hurry because I felt it was sad to just say hello without anything else.

As a bonus, I would like to show you an illustration of the Year of the Dragon that I made last time, when I was 24 years old.

This month, I exhibited at "THE PIXEL STREET," a dot-painting event!

The techniques and methods of expression of pixel art in Japan are becoming more and more diverse, and I felt that I could not afford to be outdone.

As for myself, I was not able to do even 20% of what I wanted to do or create... It has been a long time since I have exhibited at an event, and I have many things to reflect on.

This time, I adopted a new method of expression.

I used a slightly less deformed and more realistic drawing than usual.

This is a zombie and a zombie corgi that I used for an acrylic coaster.

I used the same method of expression that I have been consciously practicing.

Specifically, I did not use anti-aliasing, but left the jaggies in the image,

I used a color gradation like crushed glass!

Personally, I think it is a very beautiful and attractive technique, and I am currently practicing it!

Unlike the other characters, only Rydia is a set with her childhood!

I couldn't draw her face very pretty, but I think I was able to make the color green with a little warmth.

I tried to make it look cooler than cute!

I think the effects are beautifully done. I also really like Ashe's design.

Refia

This is actually my favorite of all the ones I've made.

The posing, lighting, effects, and everything felt like they were all neatly combined into one!

Also, the pose is a parody of an NES software package!

Quistis

This is the picture that was the least viewed on Twitter.

I actually spent about 3 hours after I posted it reworking the colors, so the quality is quite different compared to the one I posted on Twitter.

I worked hard on the effects! This effect became the basis for drawing another character's effect, so I gained a lot from making it.

Aranea

The design of Aranea was not suited for this style of pixel art, and I remember it was very difficult. The effects themselves were not very elaborate, but I wanted to express a bit of aggression, and I hope you can somehow sense that!

I worked hard on the posing! It's hard to see, but she has one leg on the spear.

I wanted to express this a little better!

Lightning

Lightning is not so well posed.

I drew it after looking at it properly, but it looks kind of stiff...

But I think I did a good job with the effects. The petals turned into lightning,

I like the way I was able to create a gradual and rapid expression.

Tifa

Tifa's costume is from "FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN".

To contrast with the previous Aerith, I used blue as the main color.

I really wanted to draw the sides of the figure, so I ended up with this pose!

I think I did a good job on the face.

By the way, it was the most popular on Twitter! That's what Tifa is all about!

Yuffie

Aerith is pink, Tifa is blue, and Yuffie is... green! So I made her mainly in green.

The pose is before she performs her technique. I think it turned out cute!

This is my first work. This painting was the first of many that I have created, and it was the first time that I started to incorporate lighting into my work.

Beatrix

I had actually planned to finish this series side by side with Agrias.

That is why the characters are oriented in contrasting directions.

I mastered the particle effect with Beatrix. It is the one flowing to the left.

Faris

I had been working on a series of blue effects, so I decided to try warm colors for this character.

I had originally created the flame effect, but the idea for the light gathering effect was born at that time. This is my favorite expression!

Celes

This is the character that took the longest time to create.

I aimed for an expression similar to the game effects of the PS era. It turned out beautifully, but it just happened to be finished! It will be difficult to create something similar...

Aerith

I aimed for a dainty color scheme! The effects are fluid, and petals are my specialty, so there is nothing new in particular. I spent a lot of time adjusting the colors, hoping that people would sense the warmth in the colors!

Yuna

I tried to create a fragile expression. I think it looks a little bit eerie, but I like it that way! I also learned how to blend the rainbow colors in this picture. I think it would look better if you could zoom in on it!

Sorry for the always last-minute posting of the month... This month's mouse pointer is a different color from the corgi pointer we were going to give out last month! It will be a tri-color with a hint of black!

Next month, we are planning to create a simplified version of the pointer for small characters such as birds and hamsters!
The simplified version will have 12 types except for "helpsel", "up", "unavail", "link_location", and "link_person". These 5 pointers are probably useless, so I will create a simpler version that excludes these 5 pointers to make the work easier.
As before, we'll still produce a full set of pointers at the same time!

This is a different color version of last month's mouse pointer.

I named it "Classic Shark" because of the gray finish, but it's a little more inorganic, so it might be harder to use!

We didn't have time to make it... originally we were going to make and distribute a whale shark version of this one.

The neck injury I suffered last month worsened and I was barely able to do any activities in the first half of the month, including work, but the injury has finally healed recently, and I'll be able to paint more in June!
