Book of Extinction 1 | Introduction
Added 2021-10-01 05:31:00 +0000 UTCOur Kickstarter for Valda's Spire of Secrets has only just concluded, so we've had a very busy month! In the meantime, we've been hard at work on a new project that we'll be developing on Patreon for most of the next year: The Book of Extinction.
In this book, we're going to tell the stories of extinct animals and translate them to D&D. Then, we're going to reimagine them in a magical setting in which they met a less catastrophic fate. This is a challenging book, spearheaded by Lucas Zellers of the Making a Monster podcast, filled with slices of sometimes biting history.
Lastly, this is a book about conservation: why it matters, and how we can improve. Next time you battle an owlbear, we'd like you to think about the fact that there may not be a bottomless well of similar owlbears; just as in the real world, there might be too few before too long. (I promise you, it's not all doom and gloom -- it's a very different perspective for D&D campaigns.)
In this first look, we present only three extinct animals: the Great Auk, the Passenger Pigeon, and the Thylacine. Please let me know what you think about this new project and what you'd like us to cover in the future!

This is AWESOME! BUT!.... Why is the swarm a cr 0? It looks like it would be a little higher than that. ;)
