Patreon Rewards ~ Academy Works!

As we are writing Academy Works, we are struggling a little bit in the name department (which is super rare because Pudding can make up nonsense names at the drop of a hat). For anyone who has read Ch. 4 of Academy I, you know that we are going to have a lot of characters. On an unrelated note, we are also doing a terrible job of writing our Patreon story where we make patrons into characters. I’m not sure why this is: we’ve done three different attempts but they just don’t seem to pan out. >_<

So we are gonna try to kill two birds with one stone. Instead of the Patreon story that we promised you (sorry T_T) we are going to add you guys as canon characters in Academy Works! Or, try to. These are bit characters, not important to the main plot. A character that comes up once in passing and “proves” that you are a part of this mysterious institution. Who knows, maybe you guys will come up with your own head canons for your characters or write your own stories. ^_^

Rules.

1.) Just give us your first name (or a name you want to be called). The more realistic they are, the easier they are to implement. So if your online moniker is “ShadowPanda”, we probably can’t find a place for that. Basically: if I can google the word and it comes up as a name, you’re golden.

2.) Preferred pronouns. We want to make sure the characters correctly identify your character’s gender.

3.) A one or two word description of your personality/disposition/role. Like “brat” or “sweet” or “Mommy’s girl” or “antagonist” or “caregiver” or “stern adult” or “noncompliant” or whatever. We are not putting /YOU/ in the story, but we want to make sure whatever your character is known for matches your identity.

4.) We might not use everyone.* If your name doesn’t fit or we run out of room for your personality archetype, we won’t compromise our writing for the sake of inclusivity. This story is really important to us and - while we love the idea of putting people in the story who support us - we don’t want obligations to interfere with our overall narrative. If it puts your mind at ease, you can put multiple personality archetypes, but this opens you up to us using /ANY/ of them.

*For the purposes of transparency, we are absolutely biased toward the socialites in our Discord. Specifically, people who read our stories and tell us what they think. This isn’t so much favoritism as… rewarding the people that continue to motivate us? Those comments do more than you could ever imagine for our self esteem as writers.

There’s a channel on Discord for this so you can add your info. If you ABSOLUTELY MUST, you can reply to this post and we’ll add it for you. But everything is easier on Discord these days.

Thanks for your understanding. We wanted to write the Patreon story as a way to honor you guys for your support, and we kinda think this might be an even better way to do it. Rather than write a story /FOR/ you, we’re putting you in a project that we love and cherish. To us, that shows more respect and adoration.

P.S. We are also going to open up a new role on Discord for story fans.  Ever since the internet went mostly mobile, forums have become less and less populated.  That means less readers and less comments overall.  But since switching to Discord, there are a few people that take the time to leave very elaborate, thought provoking comments.  And they inspire us so deeply!
