Just checking in to let you know I'm still alive... barely!

TL;DR version: Moving sucks, I'm exhausted, Daddy's hurt, and it's gonna be at least a week before my studio is setup to start recording new material. Oh, and kids are on school holidays until Oct 14th, so FML. :(

(The rest is just a rant about all the gory details, so you can stop reading now if you want!)

So as most of you already know we've been moving to a new house the past week.  I say week, because today is DAY 7 of our move, and I'm just going back to the old house today to get the last carload or two of miscellaneous boxes from the garage and hopefully be fucking done with it finally.  This has been the most exhausting, time consuming move we've ever had.  Three days before our move, we actually tried to back out of our contract because of the condition the previous occupants left our new house in when they left.  We went so far as to call the Tenancy Tribunal and give them all the details to find out if we were actually legally bound to our contract because the rental agency had never even completed or signed their portion, or gone over the condition of the house, given us the move-in checklist, the 300 photos they took of the interior, nothing.  To this day, we've still never seen the agent since she showed us the property initially.  She just left a key under the mat and did no "handover" or walkthrough or anything with us. But turns out that the tenancy laws seem to be very skewed in favor of the landlords and we had no recourse to get out of our contract, so we just have to make the best of it.

Then, the day our movers came it poured down rain the whole time. (It's actually rained off and on all week, but moving day was the worst of it.) Once they had loaded all the furniture and appliances, (everything that was too big and bulky for us to move ourselves), they drove it to our new house only to find that their truck was too big to fit down the driveway, so they had to park at the street and manually carry EVERYTHING down the long, steep driveway, in the pouring rain.  As you can imagine, they had to take it super slow to make sure they didn't slip or break anything (which I'm pleased to say they didn't break a single thing), but it took them like 3 hours longer than estimated, and at $190/hr we really weren't prepared financially for the $1,140 bill we had to pay at the end of the day :(  So we're pretty much broke until this Wednesday when Daddy gets paid again, and then a few days later when I can withdraw my Patreon money.

Add to that, Daddy threw his back out really bad yesterday.  He made it through 6 days of moving though, albeit he was in pain most of it but he powered through until that dreaded "snick" that had left him bent over at a 45 degree angle and yelping with every step he takes. I know everyone will say he should see a doctor, but he's one of those men who thinks a few days of taking it easy and fuckload of pain relief will do the trick, so I won't even go into it!  

The bad news is that it's been a week already, and basically our house is a huge dumping ground of boxes, because we've been too busy making trip after trip back and forth to really unpack or put anything away.  The only rooms that look like actual "rooms" (and not storage units) are the bedrooms. My studio has the desk and computer setup, but none of my recording equipment, and we still have to put up all my sound dampening panels and go through the process of moving things around until we can get the best sound for the space. So I probably won't be recording anything for at least another week.  And to top it off, the kids are on 2 weeks school holidays from Oct 1-14, so it's not like I could do any NSFW recording until they go back to school anyway.

I sure hope that you all will be patient with me and hang around, but I understand if you feel the need to cancel your pledge or put it on hold or whatever.  A few people have left just in the short time I've been offline, and a few new people have joined (and I just hope they know that I'm never this unresponsive unless it's for an extreme circumstance like this!)  All in all, I have the absolute best patrons and I am so blessed to have your support guys.  You know me, I'll be back to work as soon as humanly possible!
