Personality: Baltazar is the heart of Oddwind’s community and a natural leader. His presence is felt and impactful to everyone who comes across him. His solitary and cold demeanour makes him mysterious and hard to get to know, but his charisma has a way of winning other dogs over. Naturally noble, independent and responsible to a fault, he takes the town’s fate upon himself. He can be extremely authoritarian, controlling and possessive over what he feels entitled to. Baltazar finds it hard to forgive or let go of the past. He was once idealistic, but now he doesn’t let himself be fooled by emotion and despises illogical decision making. That also makes it hard from him to properly express himself. He hates losing control over situations and other dogs, and can be very dangerous when he’s in that mental state. His morals may bend, but his goals never do. He knows what he wants, and he’ll get it. His devotion to Oddwind is so strong he’s ready to sacrifice anything in order to keep it safe, even if it means becoming an extremist. 

Background: Born an only pup to one of the 4 noble families of Oddwind, Baltazar’s father (Valerio) always had trouble accepting him as his son, but he and his mother (Brianna) shared a closer bond. When Javier Hunter’s expedition party was assembled, his parents were some of the first to join and support it. Baltazar, still a young pup, was left in the care of Sam and his wife. He waited everyday for his parents to come through the gates of their mansion again, but they never did. Baltazar swore he’d find out what happened to the expedition and do anything to never let it happen again in Oddwind. 

Relations: Delilah’s boyfriend. Billy and Chase’s boss. Loved and admired by the whole town, but doesn’t have close friends.
