2020-07-11 16:05:15 +0000 UTCI was wondering the same thing,but by my own experience I've learned that the skins are more limiting than the overlays in the sense that you can't make many changes/adjustments to your character with a skin and an overlay allows you to do that.

2020-07-06 20:27:12 +0000 UTCI thought that it is the other way. That skins are the basic and could be select in the main skin selector and that the overlay would be layed over the skin (which would hide the tattoos) and that the overlay could be selected in skin details.

2020-07-02 01:47:20 +0000 UTCAn overlay will use the skin tone variations and allow tattoos to show up. A skin basically overrides a skin tone and any tattoo and the tone is whatever swatch of that skin you choose. That’s basically how I look at it. Also, depending on any male genitalia you might use, it may affect how that blends — an overlay allows smoother blending — generally.
