â¤ď¸READ THE STORYâ¤ď¸
Lara Croft descended deep into the forgotten cavern beneath the mountain, her flashlight flickering against damp stone walls. She was searching for the Obsidian Relicâan artifact said to be buried where light had never touched. The air was thick. Wrong.
She stepped into a wide chamber⌠and froze.
Black, oily slime coated the floor. Thenâmovement. From the shadows, the Tar Monster revealed itselfânot as a beast, but as a living mass of thick, sentient tar.
In an instant, two sticky tendrils shot out, coiling around her ankles. Lara gasped, reaching for her weapon, but a third strand slammed onto her head, muffling her scream.
The Tar Monster was slow, but relentless. It began pulling her down, the slime creeping higher, wrapping her legs, then her waist. It wasnât just restraining herâit was feeding, tasting.
Her heart pounded. Panic surged. She struggled, but the Tar Monster only gripped tighter, the black ooze slithering across her skin, thick and cold. It caressed her face, covering her eyes, drowning her in silence.
Laraâs last thought before darkness took her was simple, terrified:
âI canât breathe.â
And thenâthe Tar Monster cocooned her completely.
