Charge Up Front..
Added 2017-05-08 19:05:18 +0000 UTCI just recently found out that Patreon are working on the new "Charge Up Front" payment method. From what I had read so far all it does is to make a charge right at the moment anyone making a new pledge. While the old existing patrons well not experiencing any changes at all.
If I can enable this options I'll no longer have to privately sent the massage to everyone their reward packages at the 5th of each month. Instead I can deliver it to you right the very moment the art is finish. Therefor your payment at the 1st of each month will be instead count toward as a payment for all the contents of that very same month.

So please let me know what you think. I want to hear what you guys have to say about this before I made any changes. :)

As I said to you directly in im's I think it's a good idea provided you want it. it removes bot-pledges, allows for a more accurately monthly pledge total as it's no longer assuming people are gonna pay- it knows. And you no longer have to directly send messages in private. So it's got my support ~

Either you want to support, then you are willing to do what's necessary or you don't want to, then you should not betray the artist. Only question is, when I am charged with that system. At the moment at the 1st of each month.

But to be honest there are roughly around 10-20 Patrons each month who'll make their high Tier pledge just so they can gain access to it's mid-month exclusive contents. Then just a few days before the payout they deleted their pledge just so they don't have to pay anything for it. Worst part is they make their return for the next month and repeat the same process. Not to mention the bots I have to weed out every single months. So with the CUF policy I'll no longer have to deal with those problem anymore. Plus as a guys who rely heavily on Patreon to sustain the expenses it helps ease my income calculation too.

And not everybody wants to make an account to look at a creators nsfw content before supporting him here, especially if it comes to Patreon suggestions. I am not having that much money at the moment, but nonetheless I decided to support you, because I like your art - but I still don't know, if I'd say go for it, when I would be charged. Also important for you is: it's maybe better for you to choose this method, but what is with new wanting-to-be supporters? If they are not willing to pay instantly, because they have no account, where they can get a preview of your art or want to look at your art at first, because of a suggestion - also maybe from a friend - then you don't get some supporters and loose money you would've gotten, because of that payment method.

But I'm totally agreed with you that for those who don't plan to share their contents externally having this option can really be a bad idea.

And from artists, I don't know, they're good, I prefer to check the content, before I am being charged, so I don't loose money for content, I don't want to see and have. Xennos was one of the artists, I knew I wanted to support, because he does great artwork. But if you want to check a suggestion for support from Patreon and don't know the artist, the charge up front method is not a good choice.

2017-05-08 20:16:19 +0000 UTCI support a few artists who do it, I suggest doing it. The issue is on how you're gonna do it is all old art will be accessible for just 1 month payment, however the longer the list gets the more that would be a good thing.
