January 2025 Preview

EDIT - Jason here with a quick clarification. At the top of this post we originally wrote the blurb below. It was in the draft that the team reviewed earlier today, but for whatever reason it didn't make it out to everyone. So here it is.

First, here's an update about the outstanding November and December packages. We sent some November packages, but with the holidays and some of our team taking time off we haven't managed to send them all. To get back on track, we are going to send both of these packages together next week to anyone in the US who is still waiting for them. International members will be sent the combined November and December package next week too. UK members should have received shipping notifications for November packages today and December's packages will be sent in mid-January when the games reach our UK hub.

Also while I'm here, thank you all for a great year. We have lots of fun planned for 2025, starting tomorrow when we send out your new monthly coupon codes. Expect another update tomorrow, sorry! It's been busy here with two weeks of mid-week holidays and everyone taking some time off to be with their families. Onto the full update!

January is here, which means some new games! There is a good range of player counts and variety in this month's games/expansions. We really feel like there's something for everyone in the January package. Let's check it out!

Circle The Wagons: Second Shot (Featured Wallet Game)

2 Players

Think you've seen it all out here on the prairie? Think again, partner! There's always a new adventure just over that next hill. Best keep your wits about you—anything can happen out here!

Circle the Wagons: Second Shot is a brand new set of 18 cards that can either be played standalone or combined with the base Circle the Wagons game. In this 2-player drafting game, players take turns picking cards from the circle and adding them to their scoring tableau. The twist? Any card in the circle you skip over goes directly to your opponent. Arrange your cards to create scoring blocks and fulfill the three shared scoring goals if you wanna be the best in the West!

Second Shot also introduces Newfangled Mode. In this variant, all 36 cards are shuffled together and then split back into two unique 18-card sets. Players play through the first set, scoring only the shared goals, then continue their game using the second set and the regular block-scoring rules. It’s winner-take-all in this ultimate showdown!

Circle The Wagons: Lone Cowboy (Expansion for Circle The Wagons: Second Shot)

Put your skills to the test against a wily opponent in the solo expansion for Circle the Wagons.

Lone Cowboy is a series of solo expansions for Circle the Wagons and Second Shot. Each set introduces new scenario cards. These tell the player which scoring conditions to use in the game as well as adding specific rules to determine the behavior of the non-human opponent. The solo game is played over two rounds but otherwise follows standard gameplay.

Super Slopes: Park Rats and Wallet (Expansion for Super Slopes)

1 - 3 Players

You call the terrain park home. Stomp that landing for big points!

Super Slopes: Park Rat adds a terrain park that you get points for if you follow the right direction as you score.

Naturopolis: Elevation (Expansion for Naturopolis)

1 - 4 Players

As the salmon migrate upstream, hungry bears gather and take advantage of their abundance to feed themselves.

Naturopolis: Elevation is a 6-card expansion that adds new blocks that feature bears and salmon. Using the new placement rule, in which higher-altitude blocks must be supported by lower-altitude ones, line up the cascading rivers to ensure that no bear goes hungry.

Mysticana: Curse of Dragons (Expansion game for Mysticana)

1 Player

The ancient dragons who once terrorized your realm have returned in search of new treasure. Rally your forces and wield elemental magic to guard against their invasion.

Defeat the three ancient dragons to protect your lands! Each turn you must call upon your elemental skills to improve your position without falling victim to the dragons’ curse. Lay out sets of cards exactly matching each dragon’s banish requirements before they steal away all your wealth.
