The Last Lighthouse is live on Kickstarter! Here are your discount details.

Protect against an ever-growing line of unique nightmares by deploying specialized traps. Place traps wisely to eliminate as many nightmares as possible before they damage your lighthouse and ultimately destroy it. With elegant rules and multiple levels of difficulty, The Last Lighthouse offers plenty of challenge for both casual and dedicated players.

The Last Lighthouse with the Strange Shores and Long Nights expansions will be offered as the Featured Game in an upcoming BGotMC package. Both new expansions for The Royal Limited (Vintage Engines and Conductors & VIPs) with The Royal Limited Expansion Collection wallet will be the bonus content in a future package. You do not need to pledge anything at Kickstarter to receive this, unless you want to use your discount for an extra copy or to switch the Featured Game later.

Button Shy Supporter ($5) and Digital Only levels:
The links to the PNP files for The Last Lighthouse with the Strange Shores and Long Nights expansions and both new expansions for The Royal Limited (Vintage Engines and Conductors & VIPs) will be shared here at Patreon.

As a member you will receive a discount, and all of the details are below. Any questions, just ask either in the comments here or on our Discord server.

Here's how to pledge at Kickstarter as a US/UK member

For this campaign, we will NOT be using a pledge manager for US or UK backers. You will need to calculate the amount to pledge based on the reward you wish to receive.

Choose the $1 Board Game of the Month Club Members reward level and adjust your pledge amount by adding bonus support. Find the reward level that you would like in the table below, then add the cost of shipping and subtract the discount for your patron level to find out how much to pledge.

Here's how to pledge at Kickstarter as an INTERNATIONAL member (not US/UK)

For this campaign we will be using Gamefound’s Pledge Manager again. Simply pledge for The Last Lighthouse $12 reward (make sure you choose the “international” version). Do NOT use the Board Game of the Month Club Members reward.  Choose any add-on content you wish to include with your pledge, and you’re all set. You will be able to upgrade to a higher reward level in the pledge manager if you wish to.

Shipping will be collected in the Pledge Manager, and your club discount will be added using your email address to link your Kickstarter and Patreon support. The items pledged for at Kickstarter will be transferred to your cart in the Pledge Manager and you will be able to finalize the content of your reward there, adding any games from the Button Shy catalog and making an additional payment for content and shipping if required.

When the Pledge Manager opens, if you do not see the credit, we will be able to update it manually; this will most likely happen if your Kickstarter name and email address is different to your Patreon name and email address. Please email buttonshyhelp@gmail.com when the pledge manager opens if you need us to apply the credit to a different Gamefound account.

Any questions, just ask either in the comments here or on our Discord server.

At the edge of the horizon, the nightmares begin. You, and you alone, defend the lighthouse that keeps them at bay. Can you keep this beacon shining until the dawn, or will you succumb to the spreading darkness?

The goal is to survive all of the cards in the Nightmare deck, keeping the Lighthouse lit despite the spreading darkness caused by any unchecked Nightmares. Each of the 16 Nightmare cards doubles as a Trap used to control or eliminate these threats, and each feature unique abilities that change up how they are placed or used.

The game begins with up to 4 Nightmares in play to the right of the Lighthouse and 4 Traps in hand. (Shown below is the medium difficulty where 2 of the Nightmares in play were rotated to their trap side during setup.

During each turn, the player can take two actions (in any combination or order):

After the player’s actions, a new Nightmare is placed at the edge of the sea and then the Nightmares attack. Finally, the tide will move the leftmost card: if it's a trap, it is discarded; if it's a Nightmare, it moves to the right side of the line.

Should the Lighthouse ever be covered in Darkness, the game is lost. Otherwise, a new round begins until there are no cards in the Nightmare deck, in which case the player wins as long as the Lighthouse still stands.

To try the game and enjoy the glorious artwork on your tabletop right now, you can download the PNP file:

The Strange Shores expansion is included with all pledges. It introduces 3 new Lighthouse cards, each with their own unique rules and strengths. Each Lighthouse replaces the one found in the base game, adding new twists to the core gameplay.

The Long Nights expansion is included in $14+ pledges. It adds 5 new Nightmare/Trap cards which are shuffled into the standard deck. Then 3 cards are removed, creating an unpredictable and more challenging experience for veteran players.
