April and May Spoilers and Updates

Hey everyone!

A few things to report today.  Below we are going to post the spoilers of April and May (since everyone should have their May packages by now - if not, please let me know!), but first I wanted to provide a few quick updates.

June Packages are scheduled to go out this week. The last piece of the package arrives 6/30 here, but often comes a day or two early. We are pretty much ready to send these off as soon as it gets here. The June package is so good, and includes (as we've already announced) Avignon: The Heretic, plus a bunch of secret stuff from Jonathan Gilmour, Nat Levan and Daniel Isom. If you were a supporter as of 5/31/16, you will receive a June package.

Speaking of The Heretic, you will see that it has a new piece of text on the card, "Faction: None". This is built in for the upcoming expansion Avignon: Pilgrimage, as each new card will fall under a faction based on the characters in the initial game. The Heretic doesn't have a faction, but we wanted to start the new design now to be ready for it when Avignon: Pilgrimage comes out next year.

And speaking of Avignon: Pilgrimage, if anyone wants an early look at it, designer John du Bois is running some great blind testing and is still looking for more playtesters. If you are interested, you can contact John at johncdubois@gmail.com.

Time for the spoilers!

APRIL 2016

Somehow we missed the April spoiler. Thanks to anyone who mentioned it to us. April was inspired by Oceans 11, the original classic cult film. The postcard game The Big Score (originally named Dice Heist and changed just about one day before going to print when AEG announced Heist Dice) was designed by Ben Pinchback and Matt Riddle, superstar designers of Back To The Future, Fleet, Floating Market, The Goonies, and many more including our very own Cow Tiger Santa Claus. The artist this time around was Fabrice Weiss, who we've worked with on many many projects before (Pretense, Cunning Folk, Smoke & Mirrors, Avignon, etc...)

We also snuck in the following:

-An Oceans 11 inspired Wild Cats card, the Cat Pack that allows a player to look at and redistribute the roles as they'd like.

-An Oceans 11 inspired Movie Plotz card, Have one of the characters commit a CRIME, that will be sure to shake up your movies.

And for $10+ subscribers:

-Ben Begeal's Rock Paper Kittens, an RPS game that pauses for some social shenanigans.

-Jason Tagmire's (that's me!) Fatal Flaw, a fast-paced dice fighter.

-A random Board Game Road Trip Designer Card, featuring one of the first 4 designers that took place in our Road Trip project. (NOTE: There are a whole bunch more that have already taken place, we're just working on some resources here to keep it moving on the back end.)

MAY 2016

In May, we went with a candy theme. The film was one of the cultiest of the cult films, yet also a family film based on a non-cult book... Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Matthew O' Malley (Diner, Between Two Cities, Knot Dice) and Peter O' Malley designed Scrumdiddlyumptious, a deduction game that uses candy as its pieces! It's pure confection. I mean pure perfection. Or pure imagination? Anyway, it's so good, especially when you can eat the candy. :)

The art was completed by my daughter Beatrix Tagmire and son Leon Tagmire. It felt too fitting to not have kids do the artwork.

Note: There is a misprint on the postcard. The headers under Distribute Candies are reversed. The first should be bags of candies (like M&M's, etc) and the second should be wrapped candies (like Fun Size bars, etc). We tried to avoid using either of those terms on the postcard and in turn even confused ourselves. I'm looking into printing a sticker to overlay, and if I can pull it off, you'll all get one. :)

The rest of the package contained:

-A Wonka inspired Wild Cats card, the Loompa Cat that forces a player to rhyme and get rid of any bad eggs.

-A Wonka inspired Movie Plotz card, ELIMINATE a character in a creative way, which is one of the best yet. So much fun.

And for $10+ subscribers:

-Ryan Cowler's Poco Piñata (originally named A Lotta Piñata), a dizzy dexterity game where you slap coins onto pinatas, trying to burst them for the candy inside.

-One more OP Card: Golf Scoring. We introduced these a few months back and will have new ones from time to time. This one inverts the scoring and turns a loser into a winner!

That's everything! We're just a few days from sending out June, so you'll see another spoiler soon. We also just nailed the overall theme of 2017 (hint: it's not cult films) and can't wait to share it.

If anyone came late and missed the above packages and is interested, let me know. We have a handful of extras and want to make them available here before opening them up to non-supporters.

Thanks! Catch you soon!

Can you message me your address? I will look into this and get you what is missing.

Nope, never got any BGotMC mail so far. :-(

PiHalbe

Right now all May (wonka) and June (office space) have shipped. Did you receive either?

Button Shy

Should I be worried if I haven't received the May package yet? I'm living in Germany.

PiHalbe

These are available. Jan / Feb in tiny quantities. I'll check stock and post some links here.

Button Shy

I'd be interested in picking up the April package and possible early months if anything is still available.
