I LOVE Cavill's speech about being a machine in this one. I’ve watched this show start to finish maybe a dozen times over the years and it just occurred to me that, considering the chief and Tori were together in their original life, Tori killing Callie might have had a jealousy factor to it, subconsciously or realized. It genuinely broke my heart to see all those cracks show up in the Galactica. Timeline as we know it now: 1- A long time ago, there was a human civilization on Kobol. 2- Eventually, they built Cylons, and there was a rebellion, same as the 13 colonies will. "All this has happened before, and will happen again" 3- Between interhuman conflict and the Cylon rebellion, the Cylon tribe left and sometime later 12 tribes of the humans left Kobol as well. 4- The Cylon tribe found Earth and settled there, whilst the human tribes founded the 12 colonies. 5- Over time, the humans forgot the detail that the 13th tribe where Cylon. 6- The Earth Cylons developed human-type bodies and reproduction. 7- Eventually though, the Cylon tribe created their own robotic servants, who eventually rebelled, and the resultant war killed everyone. The only 'survivors' where 5 scientists who had rediscovered resurrection technology. They were warned by a man and women only two of them could see, sound familiar? They than set off on a mission to find the 12 tribes of man and warn them of the dangers of AI, and wanted to get them to learn from their mistakes. 8- By the time the 5 Cylons reached the 12 colonies, the Cylon war was in full swing . They made contact with the colonies's Cylons and made a deal to give them human bodies and resurrection technology in exchange for ending the war with the humans. 9- This resulted in the 5 giving the Cylons resurrection and creating the 8 'skin-job' model Cylons. One (Cavil/John), Two (Leoben), Three (D'Anna), Four (Simon), Five (Doral), Six (various names), Seven (Daniel) Eight (Sharon). 10- John became jealous of Daniel and angry at his creators for their irrational belief in a god, and the fact they had created him in a human body. 11- John killed Daniel and ended his model - he then killed the 5 and later resurrected them with memory blocks. 12- John inserted them into the human colonies, with the intention that they would die in the coming war. He wanted them to experience pain and suffering and show them that human bodies and the like where pointless and held them back. 13- At some point, the other Cylon models where reprogram by John to have no had knowledge of the "final 5" beyond that they existed. And start planning the attack on the 12 colonies. 14- And now we reach the start of the series.
