You probably don't recognise the MP who died, Buxomley, but he is an actor called Dennis Lill.... who played the simulant captain in the Red Dwarf ep Gunmen of the Apocalypse. He is one of three actors from Red Dwarf in this series..... along with Lee Cornes as one of the romantic poets and a rather odd but faintly familiar French jailer.

2025-07-31 12:09:24 +0000 UTCThird is my favourite Blackadder, it's probably got the highest joke rate of any of the series, but yes, the gags are generally a bit wordier, with a lot of historical references and more satirical elements. But it makes me laugh the most. That said, this is by far the worst episode of the series, a very strange choice to open on given that it's the least typical, with more guest sets and characters, barely any Mrs Miggins, odd stuff like the bi-election coverage and way more topical jokes than normal. Once you get into the main run of the series I hope you'll find yourselves enjoying it more!
