BATTLESTAR GALACTICA | Lay Down Your Burdens Part: 1 | Season 2 Ep 19 | REACTION

Comments

Just an alert…the season 3 webisodes just posted are locked and can’t be viewed even by members. Just thought you should know!

David T

It never happens in the show.

Steven Cranmore

It changes, but they don't focus on it after the first season. Also, with another baby dieing around the same time. I doubt the number would change in any noticeable way.

Steven Cranmore

After I had my liver transplant, for a week every single night I would have the most ultra realistic dreams in which, through different circumstances, I would die. I used to wake up terrified and had to summon the nurse to reassure me that this was the reality I was in. Weird how your mind can play with you! (I'm fine now BTW, 2 years on)

Karl Ward

DRADIS (from the terms Direction, RAnge, and DIStance, or alternatively Declination, Right Ascension, and Distance), is a tracking technology used in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica miniseries and television show, as well as related spinoff media. (Taken from the Battlestar Galactica Wiki which you'd probably best avoid for now!!)

Karl Ward

It certainly could be interesting if twins were to ever show up.

Ben Chan

Has anyone ever noticed that there are no such thing as identical twins in the series. If you look like another person you are a Cylon. 🤔

Steven Cranmore

I never pay enough attention, but I wonder if the population number will change at the beginning of the next episode. And will it reflect an omniscient count or will it update only according to Roslin's board? (i.e. what has been reported in-universe) Did anyone notice if it changed after Hera was born? (it should either way, since that baby was exchanged for another one that died)

Ben Chan

The track that plays during the opening scenes is called Something Dark is Coming. It is one of my favorite pieces of music. Bear McCreary is so good.

Jeremy

Anders is the one character we could be sure isn't a Cylon because the moment Xena saw his face in the previous episode, she knew he was human.

tal goren

'Galactic', eh? 😏

Troy Convers

Head-Six knows things that Gaius could not possibly know. How would she know those things if she was just in Gaius' head?

Thontor

Big, big Avengers fan here (someone do reactions to it ..); loved PM in BSG78 and the mind fuck of him doing the voice over in the intro, given his character.

Troy Convers

Dear lord I don't envy you..

Ashtara Levin

haha same!

Ashtara Levin

I watch with the DVDs but it's got a different frame rate so have to pause every couple of minutes for them to catch up

Stephen Wray

I was upset when he was on Enterprise with Scott and didn't bash a pad on the side

Stephen Wray

While editing it I was like... Oh wow. We actually really got to it on this one 😂 - Kat

Time Lord

Okay - going back to the debate about episode runtime - I usually watch along with you using my DVD upload on the computer, but for episodes with a different runtime (broadcast shorter vs DVD longer) I usually go to Amazon Prime - However this season's finale is 1h07m on both my DVD collection and Amazon Prime - so I don't really know where to go in order to watch along with you gals (or did you also react to the "longer" version for this episode since its more widespread?) Would love some input from other people regarding their setup..

Ashtara Levin

I grew up watching reruns of Quantum Leap, let's just say I screamed when I first saw Dean Stockwell as brother Cavil and begged the Galactica gods we will see him in more episodes (which, since you already saw the next one I'm guessing you now know would be a given 😉) - I can't wait for next week's upload to see your reaction to his reveal!

Ashtara Levin

Hhh I think this was the shortest BSG intro ever 😂 we can tell you guys are excited !

Ashtara Levin

Galactic is great at letting scenes breathe, one of the few shows that almost never seems to just be filling episodes. Here we have the set-up for a series finale and apart from the last few seconds there's zero action. But it manages to build anxiety-attack-inducing levels of tension with two blokes sitting in a room. Helps that Brother Caville gets some excellent lines.

Jonathan

"OH no, something bad's gonna happen. I'M TOO HAPPYYYYY!!!!!" NOW you're getting BSG!

Firefly24601

Regarding the priest: "I think he's god!". That is SO funny and ironic, you have no idea. (Not a spoiler, you would be wrong if you tried to infer anything from this.)

JXTN

Brother Cavil was played by the late great Dean Stockwell. Terrific actor who was in many, many things over a career that lasted from the 1940s to the 2010s but who will always be best known and loved to many of us for playing Al Calavicci in 'Quantum Leap'.

Ross Nolan

So funny, that I'll be so greatly anticipating and waiting for a week, for an episode I've seen myself / seen reacted to a dozen times. So that's a testament to you, Kat and Paula; for your wonderful emotions, insights and reactions to this show we love! Thanks so much for sharing your BSG journey with us!

Locoturbo

Is it next week yet?

Nolan

Here... we... go... !

John

Dean Stockwell was in Enterprise (reuniting with his Quantum Leap co-star Scott Bakula). Count Iblis in BSG 78 was played by Patrick Mcnee (better known as John Steed from The Avengers).

Lizbeth Marcs

It's the sign of good overall plotting that everything in S2 so far feeds into this episode; it's like a conduit that lays out the direction of S3, which ramps up the WTF that will make Pegasus seem like baby steps. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING is important in this episode going forward. And we're only one episode away from seeing Bill Adama in his ultimate form ..

Troy Convers

Dean Stockton in BSG? Oh boy. He ain't god, but maybe another character from BSG78 *COUGH* Iblis...

Troy Convers

Please watch the Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance webisodes that were released between Seasons 2 and 3. You will be much better informed going into Season 3. The total runtime of all of them put together is about 30 minutes.

David Brown

Came here for another creator's reaction and saw this just dropped. Screw that, we're diving into this one instead!
