2024-07-17 02:29:52 +0000 UTCInteresting detail - Cain justifies a summary execution by calling herself an officer "on detached service during a time of war". a) She isn't on detached service. The entire civilian government including the president is *right there*. It's an admission she doesn't see Roslin or any civilian authority as legitimate. b) Time of war? Remember back to the mini-series. Adama tries to justify a suicide run by saying "we're at war". Roslin replies "The war is over. We lost". Nobody has ever said that to Cain. She's what Adama could have become without Roslin.

2024-07-16 00:22:31 +0000 UTCI'm so grateful to whomever warned you ahead of time about THAT scene. It was very difficult for me to watch it the first time around, and my previous situation (a mentally manipulative/abuse first marriage) could have been worse in the grand scene of things. Luckily i was able to get out of mine and into a much healthier relationship with someone ( our 18 year wedding anniversary is this month actually) I'm just glad you had time to mentally prepare, as I can only imagine what you'd have thought if you weren't. Am so happy you had each other in person for this one.
