Never bring giant moths to a lightsaber fight

The other issue with the bugs is that "the Jedi don't attack the unarmed" yet apparently "the Jedi are more than happy to cause the unarmed to get ripped to shreds by wild animals", I wish media in general stopped doing that. This was a good episode, but I have the same feeling that I think I had with Ahsoka, which is: this could've been a movie, or a much shorter season in which this was the 2nd episode. I don't know if longer episodes would've helped. Technically Sol also saw Qimir in the shop, so he could've just been checking if Sol can tell. That said they gotta tie him to Brendok somehow (otherwise the first three episodes were kinda building up to nothing), we know Mother Aniseya did something to get the twins. Was it a deal with Qimir and was part of that deal that he gets one of the twins as an apprentice? Then in a huge coincidence Qimir was there on that night, the witches didn't want to honor that deal, the Jedi arrived, chaos ensued.

We'll see what he ends up being but as of now he still could fall under a ruthless neutrality to me... the only Jedi he tried to get killed were the ones that hurt/betrayed his Acolyte and only was trying to kill the others in self-defense or when they identified him... and then only because he knew that once his face was seen the Jedi would either have imprisoned/killed him because he didn't practice the force in the way they approved of.... it's still on that balancing point as of now.

From what I have learned from some youtube videos. Qimir's helmet and arm thing are made from something called Cortosis which has the ability to temporarily disable lightsabers. I think it first appeared in a comic book.

I have a theory that they're using a chiastic structure at least with the titles and probably the underlying themes of the episodes. There were the two paired titles, then the single-word title ("Destiny") that was a flashback from Osha's point of view, now "Day" followed by "Night" as the middle two episodes, with Mae and Osha switching places. If I'm right, the next episode title will mirror "Destiny" somehow and be the flashback from Mae's point of view, followed by two more paired-title episodes to wrap up the season. RIP Jecki and Yord

Fully agree with the last paragraph. We are thrown into a time period that hasn't been explored in live action before(I know there are comics and stuff) And we get all these new characters without much time to get to know/care about them. All the deaths in this ep were shocking but not emotional. I wish they had taken more time for us to get to know Yord and Jecki better.

Ashley

The show did a good job with tension throughout the episode -- I actually got annoyed with Yord for not trusting Osha and waited so long to turn off his saber! like, "Dude, turn it off, turn it off!"

The head tilt really should've raised Qimir from third on my list of suspects lol. I also liked that they gave him little moments to still be "silly" with and without the mask. The "no, no, no" definitely sounds like the same guy we've been seeing. The "you brought her here" also kind of fits in with that dry sense of humor but a touch darker with some icy anger behind it. He's also technically not wrong in that respect. You can't say "she was a child" after you led her into battle. I desperately want to know what the connection between Qimir and Sol is. Poor Jecki and Yord. Osha already felt guilty about waking the bug up and getting it killed - it being her idea to go back and Yord immediately dying is going to weigh pretty heavy on her, I think. The costume designer is killing it. Qimir's outfit is amazing. I agree that the episodes need to be longer. I'm a little uncertain on some character decisions and wished they had more time to breathe. I'm still very excited to see where the show goes and hope the ending is nuanced and gray, which so far, I feel pretty safe to say that's what Leslye and the team are going for.

Manny. Come on.. give the man an applause.
