Potential "Game Development" Tier
Added 2019-01-31 09:13:36 +0000 UTCNow that I know I can upload game files to Patreon, I'm toying with the idea of setting up a new tier that will:
A) chronicle game development, with in-game assets (such as the backgrounds and character portraits of a visual novel) made available for patrons to see, as and when they are completed.
B) act as a suggestion box for the direction development should take.
C) host actual, playable games, of varying length, that patrons may download in full (in the same way that "Full Moon" visual novel has been made available)
The content type I have in mind will be in line with the stuff you usually see here and in the Apsara portfolio.
Let me know your thoughts.

Hah "beer money?" You mean drawing attractive ladies money. Love the idea of you making your ideas more dynamic as that is what many of us are here for.

2019-02-01 09:33:35 +0000 UTCIt would be interesting, and assuming it was $3 charge, I'd certainly consider it. Longer term would depend on how things worked out.

2019-02-01 03:58:57 +0000 UTCAs much as I would be down for it, every time I tried to download a fan visual novel on my mac, it has never worked. You get something that I can run, and I would be in.

2019-02-01 03:16:36 +0000 UTCI'd sign up. :) Personally, I'd like to see something like the Chloe & Maxi poll made interactive. It's simple and would make for a good early project. It also meshes nicely with the polling tier, generating content for both. The winners get published as part of the poll sequence while some of the less popular options are made available though the game.

2019-02-01 00:43:03 +0000 UTCThat sounds awesome! Just curious as to how much the Game-Dev tier would be, monetarily! - Oh, I see, you said it would be $3. That sound super reasonable. :D

2019-01-31 16:41:46 +0000 UTCThe new tier would probably be $3 - and you'd get everything from the lower tiers, obviously.

2019-01-31 16:27:57 +0000 UTCdepending on the price that might be something I would go for.

2019-01-31 15:01:51 +0000 UTCSo long as you can handle it, absolutely. I’m sure we’d all love to see what you can come up with.

2019-01-31 13:47:17 +0000 UTCI echo Raogi on this. Making games can eat a lot of time that isn't exactly creative work. I mean, from a purely business perspective, what are the benefits of making a game like this over say, a comic or even sketches? Is it just for fun or will you actually be able to make a living from it?

2019-01-31 11:59:56 +0000 UTCWould everything produced at this tier be Windows only?

2019-01-31 11:56:02 +0000 UTCCould be something fun and unique to offer, especially as you've got a pretty fun PoC with the Full Moon test visual novel. I'm certain you'd find a tier of supporters for it. Give it a run to see how it goes.

2019-01-31 11:08:30 +0000 UTCThat sounds awesome, I'm actually on a team who has a VN on Patreon myself, if you need any advice feel free to drop a message. More cool TF'y VN's is always good to hear about!

Magic Man
2019-01-31 11:05:31 +0000 UTCI might be the only one to object, but more time development for games means less time for Apsara comics and sketches. Up to JJ, i don't know his workload.
