When speaking at the Battle Frontier:
[“I’m sorry, but the Battle Frontier seems to still be under construction.”]
[“It’s really unfortunate, but it seems like construction just started a couple of days before you arrived. Weird how they seem to close just before you want to challenge it, right?”]
At the Lilycove Hideout:
[“Strange to see you here. There’s quite literally nothing here, just a big empty cave. I once hid here when Drake and I were…well, never mind.”]
[“Anyways, what brought you here? Looking for something in particular? Well, if I’m guessing correctly, then the thing you’re worrying about has already been dealt with.”]
[“No need to thank me. Kids like you shouldn’t be dealing with such things anyways.”]
When speaking at Devon Corp, next to the fossil revival machine:
[“This really is a marvel of technology. I was very impressed by Mr. Stone’s efforts to create this. He really deserves all the praise that he gets for being able to revive fossils.”]
[“Unfortunately, if you’re looking for a fossil of your own, I’m afraid that there’s quite the long waiting list. Not surprisingly, there are many trainers and scientists lined up to get their own fossil.”]
[“You could speak to Steven. He might offer to help you out. Though making an appointment with him might be difficult…considering his position as Champion. Maybe come back after you speak to him.”]
When speaking outside the Cave of Origin:
[“Oh, pleasure to see you again. Didn’t think I’d catch you here at Sootopolis. Apparently, the normal guards for this cave here have fallen a little ill, and Wallace asked me to take their place for a few days. I had nothing better to do, so I thought I might as well.”]
[“If you’re looking to head inside, I’m afraid not. All entry into the cave is strictly forbidden. Barring any world-ending disasters, no entry is permitted. And even then, only in the most exceptional of circumstances would we allow a trainer of your age to head inside.”]
[“Fortunately, there are a distinct lack of world ending disasters for the moment, eh? Imagine a scenario where a kid like you managed to capture whatever’s inside here. That would be equal parts hilarious and horrifying.”]
When speaking at the Sinnoh Pokémon League:
[“Oh hey, didn’t expect to see you here. Congratulations on being able to earn all those badges.”]
[“I hope you’re ready for the challenge ahead. I’m not doubting your strength, but I am doubting your chances to become Champion.”]
[“The Champion is quite the opponent…call it a hunch, but I think I’ll be seeing you again in half an hour when you lose.”]
When speaking at the Sinnoh Pokémon League, after you lose:
[“That piano theme is quite something, right? I hope you enjoy hearing it, because I’m sure you’ll be listening to it a few more times.”]
[“Don’t look at me like that – it’s a good theme!”]
At Snowpoint Temple, next to the Regigigas statue:
[“…What a humbling figure, this is. I do not know why it is here, nor when it may awaken, but I feel as if this place is calling to me.”]
[“I can see the naked interest in your eyes. I don’t blame you. Who wouldn’t want to take control of a Legendary?”]
[“But I’m afraid that I can’t let that happen. All power corrupts absolutely, and despite your seemingly good intentions, control over a Legendary is something I cannot allow. Even if you somehow find a way to reawaken Regigigas, I will be here to stop you.”]
[“This is not a threat, but a promise. I truly hope you don’t go down this course of action. Just because you can catch’em all, doesn’t mean you should.”]
=============
[The Pokémon World Championship – What is it and why it’s so unfair]
For those of you who have entered into the post-game of the latest Pokémon game, you may be aware of the special event that takes place at the Battle Frontier. Here, you can speak with John (yes, that guy) who’s selling his stupid Moomoo milk by the front AFTER he finishes his shift in the evenings, and he’ll let you know that his family is sponsoring a charity event called the ‘Pokémon World Championship’, and you will be given an invitation to fight in it.
The Pokémon World Championship is effectively a tournament, where you face off many of the prominent trainers that you have faced off in your journey, only with revamped teams and much tougher Pokémon. Expect to see your favourite Elite Four trainers (yes, including John), Champions, and more!
Of course, for any of you who have already tried this event, you will know that it is EXTREMELY difficult. It starts off easy enough, with you fighting the Gym Leaders and their revamped teams, but you’ll be eventually facing off against all of the Champions.
And they don’t play fair. We ran the calculations, and we discovered that a few of your opponent’s Pokémon had stats above what the game normally allows, which is just bullshit.
In particular, be wary of the following:
· Lance’s ‘Emperor’ (Dragonite) – Has its Attack, Special Attack, and HP stats significantly higher than a regular Dragonite. Is lessweak to Ice type moves. Doesn’t suffer stat drops/recharge after using certain moves (like Draco Meteor or Hyper Beam).
· Lance’s Pokémon (Except Emperor) – Effectively has Sturdy. All are less weak to Ice type moves. All have significantly increased HP and Attack and are less vulnerable to Paralysis. Will never switch out.
· John’s Slaking – Doesn’t have Truant. Has overall higher stats than a regular Slaking. Attacking with any Physical Moves has a chance to be countered. Has moves outside its available movepool.
· John’s Ursaluna – Has significantly higher HP and Attack stats.
· John’s Pokémon – All seem to have increased stats, but cannot be confirmed right now.
· Drake’s Salamence and Blastoise – Both have increased HP. Salamence also has increased Attack. Blastoise’s Hydro Pump never misses, and Hydro Cannon has no recharge.
· Whitney’s Miltank – Has significantly higher HP, Attack, and Speed stats. Rollout always crits and ramps up at double rate.
· Bruno’s Pokémon – Always crits.
· Cynthia’s Pokémon (except Garchomp) – All Pokémon have slightly boosted stats than what they usually would have. Take lessdamage from supereffective attacks.
· Cynthia’s Garchomp – Has its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed boosted. Is less weak to Ice type moves.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t compile a full list because we haven’t actually managed to fight all of the available trainers yet. Resetting after every loss is very time-consuming! So we hope to give you a full and detailed list soon.
We wish you the best with your efforts! Let us know how you feel in the comments below!

*Sees Miltank always critting*
Right. Guess I’m dead. As if her Gym fight wasn’t bad enough. *sobs quietly*

Bro you had to actually wait for John to actually FINISH HIS SHIFT!? What the fuck! Why is that even a feature?! Bro thinks his Moomoo milk stall is actually the most important thing in the world.
Holy fuck he annoys me.

So…considering all of the complaints I saw on other forums about how difficult this endgame content is – I don’t know what y’all were expecting. We’ve been clamouring for harder fights in Pokémon for years. And now that we get it, everyone’s moaning about how its ‘too hard’.
Git gud.
LocalEGirl
@GitGud Did you manage to beat the event?
GitGud
@LocalEGirl LMAO no. I didn’t have a team that resisted Water types and Drake’s Blastoise wiped me from existence.
KeyboardWarrior
Drake is easy! I just lost to Bruno because I didn’t knock out his Pokémon fast enough and then they crit mine to death.

I’M STILL STUCK ON THE STANDARD ELITE FOUR HELP!

Git Gud.
A.N. I had a burst of inspiration, so I thought I’d write another one of these. This is a bonus thank you chapter for sticking with me and this story for a whole year!
Once again, don’t take any of this seriously – it’s all for fun! If you have any other suggestions or META ideas for OMAKES, please let me know! I’d love to hear them, and I might write out your suggestions!

2024-03-03 10:50:13 +0000 UTCI’m curious, what ability would John’s Tyrant have in place of Truant?

2024-03-03 01:54:29 +0000 UTCGitGud be spittin facts. If there were a post game event as challenging as that, it'd be the best thing since Charizard, and absolutely everyone would be complaining about it.

2024-03-01 08:18:15 +0000 UTCMaybe an Okame from the perspective of the gym leaders during John’s journey and their reactions to him, we don’t know too much about him before he becomes a member of the Elite Four so it would be interesting to see the build up to it.
