I've always thought this story suffers a bit from Barbara not being involved for a good part of it. I'm slightly biased as she, and "Susan's Replacement", (not naming in case you haven't watched that far ahead), are my favorite '60s companions. As for the Doctor's cloak, if you enjoy that, the next story is worth watching just for his "Disguise" if nothing else!!

2024-02-10 21:03:16 +0000 UTCThe First Doctor doesn't permanently wear the cloak from this episode-- he gets a replacement coat-- but he does wear it in some stories, including the one where he regenerates into the Second. You might recall seeing David Bradley wearing the cloak when they recreated that scene for "An Adventure in Space and Time" as well as when he met the Twelfth Doctor in "Twice Upon a Time."
