My complaint about the opening of the Bell's Hells campaign of Critical Role is that unlike "Your Turn To Roll", "It's Thursday Night" is very focused on the Critical Role show and the specific quirks associated with it and it's players. "YTTR" felt very all inclusive towards the TTRPG experience, while "ITN" is very "This is the Critical Role experience". The opening of Critical Role really felt like it went from being "this is for fans of all TTRPGs" to "this is for fans specifically of Critical Role"...and that just left me feeling deeply disappointed in the shift of focus. I will say I very much love the artwork of the animated intro when it was finally released, though. I just wish the associated song felt less self-aggrandizing.

The cows were before the Briarwoods. It was on their way to Whitestone. There is a tapestry in their keep that you can see in the last season that references it. And later in the season, Scanlan mentions it as an Easter egg. Speaking of Easter eggs, did you notice a certain pink-haired firbolg when Keyleth mentions "The Wildmother"? And Grog doing the butterfly meme ("Is this a _____")? The tree falling wasn't here. I'm not sure if it happens in the campaign, but I have a vague memory of it happening when they go to Draconia. For Vasselheim, they had actually been there before (they went there between the underdark and the Briarwood arcs), so Keyleth was familiar with a tree in the area. This season, everything is amped up. The animation, the music, the character arcs -everything. Season 1 is a great introduction. It lets you get to know all the characters without getting overwhelmed. This season, they're going hard. Wringing the most out of every frame. As amazing as season 1 is, this is so much better.

Agree with you on the opening to campaign 3 - it is a bit cheesy. "Your turn to roll" will always be the one and only CR anthem.

I absolutely love Zhara and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and was so happy to see her and Kash appear. Really love that they're adapting and changing the live play campaign to fit the storytelling needs of their series. I'm really enjoying seeing your excitement as you recognise characters and story beats. Such a fun reaction, thanks.

Better than season 1? I don't disagree, but these first two episodes are them just getting started. Hold onto whatever Scanlan would reference and brace yourself for the rest of this awesome season! :-)
