I'm glad the baddy wasn't Q. Q is vastly different than Nagilum, and wouldn't put the crew through the same kind of maze with the threat of deaths. Certainly Q does do things like that, but much different. Q is Chaotic Neutral, Nagilum is more Lawful Neutral. I wouldn't call either Evil, but both certainly tend that way with their neutrality on morality. I think LN makes Nagilum more frightening but more trustable. Generally, Nagilum /will do/ whatever he threatens, unless given reason. Q doesn't care, he'll make threats and then change his mind on a whim, and do something funny. Q is too much a comedian for this plot, and I don't think it would drive Picard to the point of self-destruction, as Q is easier to combat or negotiate with. Spoiler DS9: I don't think Sisko would punch Nagilum....

Ah the start of the pandemic. You both did really well porting to remote for your show. Some minor syncing issues. Thanks for putting in the effort to continue reacting! Love seeing things develop with all your series!

Mr Kitty

Don’t set her up too much! Let her see if she likes the next episode or not just based on her own conclusion. Expectation can taint anyone’s perspective going in, both negative or positive.

The story is about the Enterprise being diverted to investigate the destruction of the Starship Intrepid, which was itself investigating the destruction of an entire solar system. While enroute the Enterprise encounters a dark zone which Spock's sensors cannot get a reading on. As the Enterprise investigates Kirk describes it as "a hole in space" Since Data could not find any information regarding A hole in space it must have classified above his clearance level. (or the script writers had never seen the immunity syndrome)

Colin 3of5

I've just finished watching an original series episode called The Immunity Syndrome (s2 ep18)

Colin 3of5

did you know that the actress who portrayed Doctor Pulaski "Diana Muldaur" was also another character in the original series and played a nurse opposite Deforest Kelly who is Bones Mccoy in the show.

Angelica Dang

Any way you can do more than two a week? I'm a high school teacher and I only interact with students and grade about 3-4 hours per day. The rest of the time, I'm looking for stuff to watch. Please!! Love you guys!

Richard Saldana

Here's one to get stuck in your craw, are Nagilum's conclusions about humanity in general, or Picard specifically? Also, I like Picard's statement of his personal beliefs as a meta commentary on fictional characters in the collective consciousness. Finally, "Yes, Absolutely. I do indeed concur. Wholeheartedly!" Is my favorite line ever.

ALFONSO SMITH III

I was looking at the episode list for season two, and thank God these first two are out of the way. They’re about to get better.

trylikeafool

Paula looks like she about to pass out at a couple points, and there was a synching issue of like 5 seconds between the reaction and the episode, but this is the first time y'all have done this format, and it didn't detract from the entertainment for me at all :) The next episode is where the season starts to pick up for me too!

Jonny Moonsliver

I am grateful that y'all are being safe but also that you are still making these :)

Jonny Moonsliver

Love that you two are still going forward! Thanks again!!

Zegron

That went pretty well for a first try at this type of setup! I'd much rather have a reaction setup like this than NO reactions.

Firefly24601

Well that was a weird episode, I must have blanked that one out of my mind, the technical problems are bearable as long as both of you are safe and I kind of like the close ups of you both, it kind of looks artistic, thank you for another great reaction

Steven morgan

Lets just say we got these two eps out of the way. Cant wait for next week. Think the setup is fine. The synergy is still the same and thats the most important part. Sure, its stream quality, but we've even gotten used to that on tv, so that's fine. Maybe you can capture the actual better cam quality separately and use that for the edit. Randomly switching Wes out (making no story sense), just so they can kill a red shirt. Hilarious. Classic Trek.

Pickupthepieces76

When you see a rando replace one of the mains on the bridge, you know something's up and about to happen. Equivalent to the "Red Shirts" on the original series.

Bruce Bromley

I know I love that!! - Kat

Time Lord

"Yes, absolutely, I do indeed concur wholeheartedly" LOL, best line of the episode

JimBad

I have no problem with the new distancing-friendly format. It's like watching a Paula Twitch stream with Katrina as a special guest. Yeah, this episode is a weird one. The concept of the crew being rats in a maze is solid enough, but the execution here is definitely off. This is one of those episodes that's probably best forgotten. I'm sorry Katrina has had to watch two bad episodes in a row, but I agree with what Paula said about the next one being much better.

Jeff Seely

And you felt the need to explain this instead of letting them (in particular Katrina) learn it for themselves because?

G0d_Ginrai

Emanuel

Oh damn, I remember this episode being way better but it has been about 20 years since I've seen it...

Brendon Waldron

For anyone curious, here is the original promo for this episode. Needless to say, you can do a lot with a bit of editing (Katrina, you may want to be careful of thumbnail spoilers for future episodes/seasons if you check it out): https://youtu.be/NjYMWhy2TiU

G0d_Ginrai

Good job with the quarantine reactions. I was wondering how you were going to deal with that. Hang in there. This was never one of my favorite episodes. Next week's has better writing.

John

Been waiting for this all week. :D Although, it must be strict there, because here, you can still go out and about to places.

Chrissonator

Being able to get the newest video as soon as it drops is one of the advantages of this working from home during quarantine. :)
