See I love that he was continuing to fight for the reasons you state. It’s not often we get an antagonist character get that sort of moment. I think my annoyance was more coming from that I wanted things to move along if that makes sense

2025-11-16 08:07:51 +0000 UTCYou know what i really like about Hannyabal's stand against Luffy and his refusal to stay down?.... It's..... that it is straight-up the usual trope or plot-device reserved for the Protagonist, the main character is usually the one who is always getting up repeatedly after getting beaten by the Antagonist/Villain (Examples being Luffy vs Crocodile or Luffy vs Lucci)... So i find it really interesting when i see reactors get annoyed at Hannyabal's refusal to give up. Like sure... it's am impediment to our protagonist who we deeply care about... but Oda is also showing us here that the characters we follow are not the only ones who are capable great acts of courage and resilience... Hannyabal overall is a very sleazy guy..... but this moment demonstrates that even he has his own dignity and pride. It's like that saying.... "Everyone is the protagonist of their own story".
