Yes, it was announced before Season 6 that it would (at the time) be the final season. Thankfully now that isn't the case. Also, some fun facts: 1. The Silence is notable for being the final episode in the show's original run (except for the two miniseries after S6) to feature Kyla Kowalewski voicing Anais after 8 years in the role. Shame she didn't return for TWWOG, but her successor does a great job in my opinion. 2. The Future was intended to be the first episode of Season 6, but it had to be delayed until late in the season due to various production problems.
