Riddley's Nightmare - Chapter 3

Riddley and Stephie are scheming to strip Lindsy of her powers.

+++

Under the glare of a cloudless night where the moon gifted the world a blueish hue, Riddley shrieked like a little girl while he jogged down the street as a bat grazed his head, its wings fluttering as it disappeared into the shadows.

Reprimanding himself for such unmanly behavior, he pulled his cap low over his eyes, gazed around nervously, and quickened his pace, making his way toward the park.

While he was anxious to know what Stephie had to say, he would also be glad if this whole episode was put behind him.

He was more nervous than he cared to admit. If his kid sister, Lindsy, would find out about this meeting, there would be hell to pay—there was no doubt about that.

A chill ran down his spine at the thought of her potential retribution.

As if in company with the thought, his hand drifted instinctively toward his junk.

Lindsy had inflicted unbearable agony upon him that morning in the yard. The scorching heat emanating from her eyes had made it seem like his private parts were being seared by a furnace reaching melting temperatures.

That night, Riddley gave his nut sack a thorough inspection to see if he could detect any signs of long-term damage. But he saw nothing.

It appeared to be the same as always like it was never subjected to such pain. Perhaps Lindsy localized the heat solely on his balls. Even so, such hellish pain must surely indicate some form of severe injury. But Riddley could not find anything.

He did a five-knuckle shuffle that evening as pristine images of Christi's bosom floated by in his head and experienced a most satisfying ejaculation, reassuring him once more that his manhood functioned as it should be. Thank god!

He glanced anxiously over his shoulder before venturing around the corner to reach Lakeview Park.

The area was eerily silent at this time of the evening as he paced beneath a canopy of overhanging tree branches that blocked out the pleasant pale-blue light of the full moon illuminating the night sky.

He cussed as he nearly stumbled over a thick tree root that had managed to pulverize its way through the asphalt path Riddley was walking upon. After that, astonishment seized his eyes and stretched them into a wide-eyed look when he was forced to climb over a tree that had fallen and was now blocking the path.

What an idiotic place for a meeting like this! Riddley thought. And at a time like this, nonetheless!

The statue came into view, its shape nicely contoured by the intense glow of a full moon hanging beyond it in the dark sky.

A shape peeked its head around the corner, beckoning Riddley to come closer.

This was his opportunity: tonight, Lindsy's rival, Stephie, would reveal to him the secret to his kid sister's powers, thus ending the former's reign of terror over his life.

Riddley's chest swelled with anticipation as his mind raced with visions of becoming a renowned superhero. He imagined himself receiving a standing ovation from the mayor, who would award him a unique relic in appreciation for rescuing a crew of oil tanker sailors from a shipwreck - he'd be the most renowned superhero of all time!

Assuming that he would get powers, of course. For some reason, Stephie knew the secret to his sister's powers, or so she claimed. And if that was true, there was a fair chance those powers could be transferred to him instead.

But what if Stephie wanted the powers for herself? And that he was merely used as a tool to reach it? Stephie was fairly vocal about her eagerness concerning these powers. She even confessed to him that she would use it to take over the world and have everyone worship her like a God.

These doubts made Riddley nervous and dampened his enthusiasm. What if Stephie was not to be trusted? What if what she told him turned out to be a lie, or a fact untrue and only believed by her?

Riddley's jaw was set as he trudged through the gravel to the statue, determination in his stride. He had no choice but to go forward. What other option did he have? Stay in his sister's oppressive company, facing continual mistreatment? No way! If there were a chance—even a tiny, unlikely one—to escape this misery, Riddley would seize it with both hands.

A hooded individual greeted Riddley, its face unrecognizable in the dark. "You have it?" a feminine voice asked. Even before Riddley could answer, the girl had her hand outstretched as if she already knew he did.

Riddley groped about in his pocket and fished out a red ribbon belonging to his sister. He stole it this morning from her room when she went for a flying trip to Mount Rushmore.

Stephie had said that for her incantation to have any prospect of success, she needed an object from Lindsy containing her DNA; even something as simple as a single strand of hair would suffice.

"Here," He dropped the ribbon in the girl's grasp. "So what's the secret to my sister's powers, Stephie? You will transfer them to me, right?"

"Easy there, eager beaver," Stephie replied with a hint of mirth in her voice. "Who says her powers are transferable?"

"But they can be stripped away, right? I certainly hope you did not let me stroll all the way here so late in the evening while putting myself at serious risk by stealing something of my superpowered sister for nothing."

"Nothing is for nothing, my dearest brother."

Riddley was taken aback at the ending of Stephie's sentence.

Riddley frowned in confusion when hearing the last part of that sentence. Come to think of it, Stephie's voice does sound a bit off. He tensed up, suddenly worried that perhaps what he was hearing was...gulp. A characteristic giggle coming from under the hood confirmed his worst suspicions.

"Surprise!" Lindsy shouted as she pulled off the hood to show her grinning face. Riddley took a step back in shock.

"You! W-where is–" he began to ask, searching around anxiously before his question was interrupted.

"…Stephie?" Lindsy tossed her long coat aside, unveiling her toned figure while wearing nothing more than alluringly daring denim shorts and a bright yellow belly shirt. She shook her blond hair, sending it swaying in a seductive motion. "Probably at home, belittling some wannabees on TikTok like she always does."

Lindsy's eyes narrowed in glee as she scrutinized her skittish brother gaping at her as if he just stumbled upon a cold-blooded criminal in the death of the night that could end his life at any second. "You're so easy to maneuver, dear brother of mine. Did you honestly believe Stephie stands on your side? And even if she did, it would not make any difference."

"You've concocted this?" Riddley asked.

Lindsy shook her head. "Why should I? I already know what your course of action would be anyway. No, it was Stephie's. You should be aware of how eager people get to win your approval when you are as great as me." Chuckling, Lindsy continued, "You're so desperate to become this idol of yours. You would do anything for even the slightest chance to get his powers. If that meant taking my life, you'd consider it, wouldn't you?" Lindsy's glare darkened.

Riddley gulped and took another step backward.

Lindsy's laughter shattered the night air. "Relax, I'm not going to kill you."

Then, what are you here for?" Riddley asked warily.

"Come," Lindsy offered, her arm outstretched in invitation. "I'm going to take you on a trip."

"To where? And at a time like this? I have school tomorrow, and so do you."

Lindsy laughed. "Really, brother? When presented with the opportunity to strip me of my powers, you don't give a rat's ass about a bit of lost sleep, but when invited on a trip with your loving sister, you turn into a nagger? It's almost comical to think that you actually believe I have to go to school. Those days have passed, my friend."

"So what are your plans if you're not going to school?"

Lindsy gave a nonchalant shrug. "Whatever I want. For the first time in my life, I feel liberated in the truest sense of the word. I'm in control, and no one can stand in my way." Lindsy offered her hand to her brother once more, raising an eyebrow as she asked, "You're coming or what? Or do I need to treat your scrotum on another heat therapy?"

Driven by the mental anguish he felt when recalling his sister's teasingly painful treatment of his nether regions, Riddley snatched Lindsy's hand without hesitation.

He screamed in agony as he suddenly found himself rising into the night sky, propelled by his sister's extraordinary power, and it felt like his arm was being ripped out from its socket. "It hurts! It hurts!" he cried out.

Irritated by his pathetic pleas, Lindsy turned to see her poor brother being pulled along like a rag doll, his screams intensifying the higher they got. He was so scared he had almost soiled himself. "Wait, I'm going to let you go and try something else," she said.

"No, no, no! Don't you dare to –" he sputtered, his words halting as he realized he was still hovering in the air as Lindsy released his hand.

Is it finally happening? Do I have powers? Can I fly? He thought.

He was ready to grant his sister a triumphant grin as he was as good as convinced that he miraculously finally achieved powers and could challenge her on an even scale. But the laughter from Lindsy's mouth kept him silent, making him look at her with a puzzled glare.

"What's so funny?"

"Isn't that obvious?" Lindsy laughed, gripping her stomach as she gasped for breath. "You! You think you have powers now, don't you? Go on, give it a shot, fly off!"

As his confidence received a crack after hearing his sister's words, he still had enough left to prove her wrong. He was floating in midair effortlessly. So he should easily be able to propel himself in any direction, but it wasn't working. Frustrated, he tried again and again, but nothing happened. With every attempt he made, Lindsy's laughter pitched higher until she was howling with glee.

"Okay, Lindsy." Riddley crossed his arms, a sour look on his face as he addressed Lindsy. "Enlighten me, please," he said, barely restraining the annoyance in his voice.

After recovering from her laughing spree, Lindsy composed herself and said, "Observe." She pointed her finger from left to right, and Riddley's body moved along with it as if it were attached to a string. It all made sense now.

"Telekinesis?" he exclaimed. Lindsy nodded with a knowing grin.

"I can even do more than that, you know. I even uprooted a whole tree on my way to that statue."

Riddley took a big swallow as he remembered the staggering size of the tree blocking his path to the statue. "C-can you do more?" he queried while at the same time fearing her response.

To his relief, his kid sister shook her head. "Not at the moment. That's my limit for now as far as telekinesis goes. But it is evolving as we speak. I can feel it. Who knows," Her petite hand closed into a tight fist." maybe tomorrow I can lift a whole building with just a gesture of my finger, or even stronger, am I able to uproot an entire city with just a wave of my hand, wouldn't that be hilarious?" She tittered.

Riddley imagined a chaotic scene: citizens running around aimlessly as their city was lifted off the ground by an unseen force. At the center of it all soared Lindsy with her hands on her hips, an adolescent girl full of delight with the extraordinary abilities that reduced the rest of the world to mere playthings for her amusement.

So much power and control, all in the hands of a young girl. It would mean a worldwide disaster!

He once more realized that the planet and its inhabitants were now nothing more than toys for Lindsy to play with. He could only hope that her play would be gentle. But judging by her personality, Riddley gave that prospect little chance.

Either way, Riddley refused to accept this bleak destiny. Although Lindsy seemed invincible at the moment, like a Goddess, he knew that Superman had a flaw - kryptonite - that made him as vulnerable as any human. He was confident that Lindsy must have something like a kryptonite, too.
