So interesting...The director talked about kids as if kids are mentally strong as they don't know or have gone through any kind of experience that could mentally cripple them. Good and bad experiences is part of human life, something we can't really control, it's just life. But in this story ignorance is equal to mental strenght, since the potential of the kids is always preserved between these controled environment. But... they can't never grow up from it either. As people mature, they of course become doubtful, sluggish and maybe conceited, but that is something that also changes with experience, all the bad things that happen, all the good things that happen should go trough a process where they become the cornerstone of your personality and individuality, and at the same time strengthen your will. I don't understand what is the goal of this indoctrination, keep them as kids with no will so they can keep working? But you need them to reproduce right? Then when will you let them grow into adults? since marriages are already established. It's so weird and so interesting.
