Yeah that's gonna leave a mark... and Kizarasunga's nails aren't even long.

I may be alone in thinking this, but... I don't consider Kizarasunga's actions to be "over the top" or excessive here. Zusufula is holding her back, yes - but she's also not protesting his grip. We need to remember that she is a visiting Head of State, the Six Feathers, with as much authority in her country as the Emperor here has in his (although the method of ascension, as well as philosophy of governing, is vastly different between the two. I can not picture the Emperor allowing even his "most trusted" to physically restrain him this way.) To me it looks as though Kizarasunga IS restraining her temper; she's just been grabbed and insulted in the worst way according to HER beliefs and customs, by a person that she outranks by several orders of magnitude. Her reaction is that of a grown tiger to a foolish cub - not to kill or cripple, but enough to teach the "cub" that they've overstepped, According to the customs of Kizarasunga's people, if I'm reading this correctly, the "correction" would have been accepted as her right as Six Feathers, and she'd have been respected for her restraint (or for accepting Zusufula's restraint) on the issue. That said, I do have some pity for the Lady Intha, because of the clash of cultures. She was in way over her head (and acting "above her pay grade") and didn't realize it until it was too late. If she's smart, she'll take the time to learn the WHY of what happened. If not, her grudge will add more tension to the storyline.

Whose brand of diplomacy? I think there are two separate and very different customs present at the table, and neither really understands the other.

Granny Smith

I do agree her actions were over the top. Less violent than the original but still just as damaging and as damning. Without giving away any spoilers, I hope you'll still give her a chance, too! She has her reasons for such an extreme over reaction.

Not to mention β€œgrip strength that could crush a walnut”:-)

StLOrca

In that last panel, her nose is so pointy she looks like the Wicked Witch of the West :-)

You're not a weirdo. She has been brought up in a society that does not value women except as pawns in the great game of social advancement, as sources of male pleasure, or as baby factories. Undoubtedly, as a member of the aristocracy, she's been thoroughly indoctrinated to believe these things. Lady Intha as a person deserves pity even though her attitudes and beliefs deserve contempt.

Bill Meahan

... Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I keep feeling bad for Intha somehow. :c

Now she knows what it's like to be clawed by a tiger. 😈

Kid Chaos

....I rather suspect that being more diplomatic there might have created a few less problems in the long run. For both of them

Michael Brewer

Heh, don't neeeeed long nails for something like that. I know that one all too well. :D

Never underestimate what adrenaline and anger can make a person capable of! Especially someone like Kizara!
