I tried using greys as every other artist does nowadays but I quit midway the first issue. Too much work and I don't think it's necessary with the colors afterwards...

2024-09-24 06:16:07 +0000 UTCYeah, I think it's pointless. Unless it makes sense, like in this one-shot page with Venom, it makes sense to color the sky and Venom to make the sun and the lens flare pop in white. Otherwise, I felt like I was doing the flat for the colorist for no reason.

The only thing that works for me is trying different angles and not looking at previous poses and praying they come out different haha. But you definitely have to make a conscious effort not to do the same thing over and over.
