VENOM #253 COVER full process

Hi everyone!

Here is the full process for the new cover of Venom #253!

This one was a lot of fun. I had some trouble with the hands and guns, those weird angles always get me, but it came together in the end.

It’s actually the first cover I’ve ever done using real ink! I bought a bunch of pens and just went for it like I do with commissions.

Since the characters were so big, it actually made things a bit easier, fewer chances to mess it up.

I think it came out pretty sweet. 😄

Hey there, awesome folks who got commissions way back!

First, a huge thank you for your support, it really means a ton!

I gotta be honest, though. With the monthly volumes, covers, and all the exclusive stuff piling up, I’ve been struggling to find time to work on those commissions. It’s been a while, I know, and I feel bad about it. Right now, I’m so swamped, working weekends and all, that I don’t have a clear idea of when I’ll be able to get to them. 😅

If you’d like a refund, no problem at all, just hit me up! I totally understand, and I don’t want you waiting forever when I’m this overwhelmed. Just send me a DM.

VENOM 250 double page spread

Venom 250 is out today. I only did a short 10-page story revisiting Lethal Protector's era in San Francisco.

I did a cool double page spread (we don't really do much of those) I think it came out pretty sweet.

VENOM 250 preview lineart

Here is a preview of my story in Venom 250, coming out October 1st.

All-New Venom keeps going as Venom 250 ( it'd be All-New Venom 11 basically)

We go back to the 90s, to the Lethal Protector era, with a roided-up Eddie and classic Venom (before the tongue thing).
I only have 10 pages in this particular issue, but it's a good one, a lot of fun, and a lot of naked Eddie. uwu

VENOM #252 cover process + commissions?

Hi everyone!

Sorry I’ve been away for a bit — I took a couple of weeks off to recharge after wrapping up 10 straight issues of All New Venom. I was completely drained, but now I’m back full of energy!

About commissions: I still have a list of pending ones, and I’ll try to start a new piece next week if no cover work comes in. At the same time, I’ll keep pushing to finish the rest of the list. Sorry again for the delay — I’ve just had so much on my plate that it’s been almost impossible to find time for them.

I really hope you can hang in there a little longer, but if not, no worries — I can always issue a refund if you’d prefer.

Now, for the fun part: here’s the full process of the Venom #252 cover! It was kinda weird drawing that funky Spider-Man suit on Venom, but hey, that’s comics for you 😅. Timelapse coming next week!

Black Cat commission DONE

Hi everyone,

What a weekend! After spending all of Saturday on it, I finally wrapped up the Black Cat commission.

Really happy with how it turned out. (The scanned version doesn't always capture the colors just right, I tried my best to make it look as close to the real life as possible...)

I did the sketch digitally in Clip Studio Paint, then transferred it to 250gsm paper for inking and coloring. I used UniPin FineLine pens for the linework and Copics CIAO markers for the colors.

I'll jump on the new commission soon.

Hi everyone,

Here is the finished sketch with the color guide.

I'm pretty happy with it. We stay in the "figurine theme" for this commission batch, which I think fits it right.

This was done on Clip Studio PAINT using my Wacom 22HD.

The next step will be to draw it on paper and color it. The colors you see here are just a guide, so I don't have to improvise when doing it on paper with my Copics.

I hope I can finish it next weekend🤞

Venom with the new brush (from previous post)

Hi everyone,

Just a quick Venom ink test using the new brush from this post ( MJ + new brush? | Patreon ). It’s a small panel (less than a quarter of the page), so that’s why the lines look so thick at size 30.

I really enjoy the textured look—like a real pen on rough paper. The ragged edges give it a nice feel. It’s tricky to keep it soft, but I like the balance.

MJ + new brush?

Hi everyone!

I haven't jumped in any other commission yet, I'm sorry! All-New Venom monthly and stuff, you know the deal.

But the commissions will be done at some point, I promise.

In the meantime, here is our MJ fix for the week.

And a new brush I've been trying out for inks, it reminds me of the Fine Line UNipin I use for traditional inks.

I didn't like how when I go for size 20 with my regular brush ( My main brushes on Clip Studio | Patreon), it gets very transparent, and when coloring, it gets lost sometimes.

So I'm trying this one, which goes full black when you apply any pressure. But I always end up coming back to my darker pencil brush😅 maybe this one stays for good.

I've attached it for you guys to try out. I think I only modified the stabilization; my presets are already in the file.
