But the script just came in, so I'll put her to the side for now. Hopefully, I can finish it on the weekend.

Commission full process

Hi everyone!

Another one finished! Featuring Laura and Rogue taunting the enemy.

I had a bit of a hard time with the perspective. I didn't want a front view and wanted to give it more of a selfie look. But the upper perspective proved to be harder than expected. I had to do a few sketches until I felt confident it was going to work (mainly the legs—those damn legs in this perspective are hard not to make them look like sausages!).

So yeah, here it is!

The sketch was done digitally on Clip Studio using my Wacom 22HD

I do digital colors just to guide me when doing them on paper, so I don't have to improvise.

The final inks and colors were done on paper (I think it's 230g), pens Uni Pin fine line of different sizes (0.05 up to 0.4) .

I used Copic Ciao for the colors. They work very well on small pieces, but if the space you want to color is big, it can be tricky to maintain a flat look on the first layer.

Anyway! I'm not taking any more commissions until I finish the ones already on the list, I'll share it here first when I reopen it again.

New brush

Hi everyone,

This is just a quick one. I've been using this new brush, which is preset on Clip Studio.

It's called Saji in the Pen folder, but some people seem not to have it, so I wanted to share it! You'll find it attached at the bottom of the post.

I use it at 12 size and I just changed the stabilization to 12. (It should have already been changed in the file.)

Since I get asked about it literally everyday, I'm open for commissions! Kind of... one at a time.

As I finish one I'll take another, I don't want a to do list of 50, it's too stressfull to look at.
And my monthly series never stop so it might take time.

Page full process + .psd and .clip file

This is the first page of All-New Venom #1!

Madame Masque in all her glory... chained... you know what I mean!

Frankie D'Armata is coloring the series, so shout out to him, I don't think he has IG.

I've attached the full process of this page starting from scratch AND the Photoshop and Clip Studio files ( files attached) so you can dig into the craziness of the layers and all that. I think that's always fun.

It isn't the most complicated page BUT with that simplicity comes the hardest task: Choosing the right pose!

Because on a regular page with 5-6 panels you can kind of rely on one or two great panels and for the rest you don't have to put in as much time.

So, as you can see, I sketched a few poses until I chose to go for the more simple approach straight forward (which I rarely use), for some reason my brain said that was the right call.

Venom 39 forshadow cover

Hi everyone!

This is how I did the first cover featuring my new Venom for the upcoming series ALL-NEW VENOM! (did I write Venom too many times? venom venom venom)

-I started with the classic 4 layouts for the editors to choose from.

They chose D, which is interesting because of its format. Having his arms out to the sides forces the character to be smaller in the vertical frame. But the pose is cool and it makes for a "coming right to you" approaching situation, if that makes any sense.

-I sketched the final pose again away from home, so I did it on pencil, then back home scanned it and started worked on the big old Wacom and Clip Studio Paint.

I was going to do the buildings myself but I found so many cool images and was pretty busy so I decided to use a pictures instead of wasting time drawing windows. I was going to draw them either way when doing the final "inks".

-Once the final sketch was done and approved by the editor I printed and went to the lightable and did the final "inks" ( I used a mechpencil 0,5 with 2H leads, not real inks) on traditional paper.

-Scanned the thing, up the black levels, lowered the greys to give that black and white feel on Photoshop. I also erased all the dirt from the lead, using a ruler and drawing buildings gets pretty messy, so I have to be very careful not to make a mess.

And that'd be it!
