Butterfinger BB's first hit when I had braces and were banned by my parents after my second hastily-scheduled orthodontist visit. Guaranteed bracket-busters.

The Brick

Dustin

what’s the name of Ben’s phone brick device mentioned in The Firm episode? I am legitimately interested

Diarrhea_Every_Day

it's not valve it's vulva

Chabnormal

Speaking of athletes becoming actors, I watched Onyx the Fortuitous, a couple times. It's pretty good. That step-dad character should have gotten a couple more scenes. He was doing some interesting moves in the kitchen.

Chabnormal

The Packers is socialism. Best candy: Skittles Gummies

Chabnormal

Is Rogers saying “I love itI love it I love it” a reference to a Michael Showalter character called Blueberry Johnson from The State?long shot, but I thought I’d ask.

ChuteShark

Kinda sounds like Flake or Aero, but obv those aren’t Argentinian

Wadi

Thank you for clearing that up. If Krycheck is busy & doesn't post til Monday on occasion all good totally understand. Just wanted to check if there was an actual policy change.

Dan Skisak

Krycheck posts them on IG when he can, usually the Thursday before the episode. And yes, you can get the entire month’s list ahead of time by upgrading.

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

Thank you, that might be a shadow wolves only thing though.

Dan Skisak

Biiiig wink from Bill

Big Junior

Scroll down a bunch they give clues to the movies about once every 5 weeks.

right before he jerked off 2 invisible dicks for 40 minutes: "While Trump did field a few questions earlier in the night, his responses raised eyebrows. For instance, when asked about rising grocery prices, Trump made an outlandish reference to Hannibal Lecter, the fictional cannibalistic character."

bloodflart

seriously what's the deal with the runtimes these days? if you're making trash you should be cutting it down already

bloodflart

Little suspired that the Comedy Bang Bang logo / mascot did not get a shout out during the novelty chattering teeth discussion

There’s actually a full series of kids books now called “I survived” where it goes into a full recount of historic disasters. There’s 9/11, the holocaust, Pearl Harbor, but also grizzly attacks, the great molasses flood, and earthquakes.

Kevin Fennell

I like watching the movies the weekend before. Should we ($5 tier) expect to find out the movie selection on Mondays going forward? All good if that's the case just want to know what to expect. I had trouble figuring it out on Sunday.

Dan Skisak

keeping yer bars in the fridge is a game changer

Jon Smith

oh man Rebel Ridge. Dr. Runtime needs to amputate about 40 minutes, cool story Ramboesque revenge yarn but that shit needs to be lean and mean. There's not enough plot to justify going over two hours, I don't know if it's a Netflix thing or what but there's a lot of this bloat these days.. good outside of that tho, can't wait to see more Aaron Pierre in things

Jon Smith

To clarify yet again. Just started listening to the episode. So no goraggon or Bot costumes available or sold out? #neverforget

John McClane

Also, quick Walter Isaacson story, I was working at an event that both he and Ashton Kutcher attended. Ashton kept psyching himself up to go confront this smiley old man in a fly-fishing hat for what he felt was an unforgivable hatchet job with the Jobs book. From what I saw, they never had their Warriors moment. Or if they did, Isaacson didn't seem to give a fuck. How inflammatory Ashton found *that* book makes me think that 2013 Jobs movie must be truly unhinged.

JeanClaudeGrandDame

Twix Ghosts and Kit Kat Ghost Toast are the ghoulish yin and yang of themed Halloween candy.

JeanClaudeGrandDame

Hell yeah

Will See

Same with my class, once they got over the initial hurdle of “Curaçao”

Joe B

This movie is quite fantastic. The main actor, Michael Hogan?, is in Babylon 5 and the Peanut Butter Solution. He's basically the Candian Ed Harris

Jordan Cook

I don't know, but I'm 43 and just re-read My Side of the Mountain this year. That's the book Ben was talking about. The tree was in the Catskills though, not Central Park. It was the original Zombie Survival Guide.

Brash Tracks

Ngl I had listened over a 3 hour ride and HAD to say something HAD TO I’m only an amateur pedant

The CVS story is great. Had a random ABZ story from an episode I can’t remember pop into my head recently. Throwing darts at a bar and the guy in the lane next to us tells his buddy he picked up some new equipment at the dart store. This of course is in reference to a drunk lady in Buffalo asking Rodgers’ dad what his line of work was while his sons helped move him into a new office space

Bob Brown

Hard agree. I’m currently finally listening to the recently re-released Friedkin Connection audiobook, only the latest in a long list of great book recs from the Boyz

Jenn

I think of The Cay all the time. I read it with my 5th grade class in 2002-3. I vividly remember that there is a part where the book describes Timothy’s “horny hands” (the non-sexual meaning of the word) and the whole class was snickering. I was so annoyed because a) I loved the book and was taking it seriously, and b) I was extremely sheltered and had no idea why they were laughing 😆

Jenn

Does anyone know what Argentinian chocolate Stanger is talking about? My Google search was a bust, but it sounds very interesting.

JoBrock Brobama

Dove Milk Chocolate is good . Food for thought.

John McClane

Bummer dude! Also last

John McClane

Who do you work for?

Julian Neuweiler

I like that even Stanger’s Uber drivers know and enable his food talk kink.

David D.

Just read through the comments. How the fuck does anyone think our overuse of plastic is good and/or sustainable? That’s fucking crazy. I’m guessing before I die I will see big plastic treated like big tobacco. 10 minutes to break 10,000 years to break down.

Oldmancoyoteface

Oh boy. As soon as I saw the two black characters in the beginning I thought “90’s movie, they’re gonna be the first to go.” What a bummer to be right. You’d have had to be Denzel back in those days to make it out alive.

Nathan Rodriguez

Oh no! didn’t mean to annoy, sorry. Yeah I took yall to mean something more specific and I always trust your nutrition/wellness advice Make plastics safer and less destructive, like bpa. But eg plastic packaging of food and medical supplies keep markets and hospitals from being death traps

away

I don't care if I live or die

bloodflart

joe bob briggs knows where his bread is buttered. the guy has some interesting ideas and used to write for takis magazine. he seems to have backed away from really broadcasting his far right views.

Brendan Crowley

Stanger, have you heard any of the recent Doughboys in Canada episodes? Brief discussion on the low quality American chocolate

Douglas “Scoop” Reinhardt

I don’t think confused is the right word Orlando Bones. You might want to look in to phthalates and bisphenols and what they do to you. We are all constantly exposed to that stuff now anyway, so it doesn’t matter. Thanks for the book recommendation!

Ryan Stanger

I’m 10 years younger than the Book Boyz and also had to read Island of the Blue Dolphins, the Cay, Hatchet, My Side of The Mountain, and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler Are those still assigned reading?

Alec Ogg

The boyz are always confused by what plastic is and why it’s used (ie it’s an indispensable material; it’s invention is one of the greatest improvements in human welfare and we use it because nothing else works like it does) I know the context is a moral panic about microplastics so it’s mostly emoting, but a really great short pop book on material science which covers plastic is “Why Stuff Matters”

away

Make it per game!

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

Asked chatGPT "based on our conversations, which Action Boyz boy am I the most like?" and it said I'm the Gabrus of my friend group, yessss. He's the stoner.

bloodflart

I too found this movie felt twice as long.

FiddlersGreenDay

“Brilliant Minds” was originally called Dr Wolf but the network was worried that that would offend Dick Wolf so they made them change it to the most generic title ever. Sounds like sauna trivia I know but I heard that one straight from the horse’s mouth. That said…Criminal Minds (a show no one has ever seen) is in season fucking 18 if you count the spjnoff. Maybe it was the right call after all.

Pod Ween Satan

Last night, I watched ‘Clearcut’ (1991) on Prime Video. It’s billed as “folk horror,” but it’s more of an ecological revenge thriller—that’d be perfect for a future Indigenous Peoples’ Day (or Earth Day). There are even two sauna (sweat lodge) sequences.

Frank Kimball

Mickey Mouse kinda sound like the intro to Predator 2 now that I hear Ryan do it

bloodflart

If not, Seagal should option it. Gabrus would be an Epic Groo the Wanderer.

Dan

Every time I trash one I think to myself "it's a beef diaper"

bloodflart

Did Zen Intergalactic Ninja ever get a feature film

bloodflart

Haven’t listened yet just to clarify my comment. Happy Indigenous Peoples Day

John McClane

The NFL must step in and end Tony Sparano’s 20 years ago reign of FG terror

Robert Peterson

Dolphins from 2000 to 2015 were notorious for settling for FG’s. Especially during the Sparano years. I swear they’d have multiple turnovers that ended in no TD, and a FG attempt.

Don Knott Steiner

Butterfinger’s are definitely bad. That shit gets stuck on the roof of your mouth, and kills any enjoyment eating it. Butterfinger BB’s on the other hand taste way better. Probably good enough for top 20 register candy when it was around.

Don Knott Steiner

The Boyz joke about the "Book Boyz" but for real that's a podcast I would pay another $10 for. I always thought there should be some sorta Action Boyz book club, official or unofficial. I listened to Antkind because of them and that became one of my all time favorite books, and of course I discovered Joe Abercrombie from the Boyz and I can't get enough Abercrombie. As Stanger would say, "something to think about."

Brix

Rodgers…how often do you think teams attempt more than 3 fg in a half??

Robert Peterson

The Valiant Comics talk got me pumped for a Ninjak-Vember.

Dan

I had a big crush on Holly Marie Combs in Picket Fences.

JamieQT

Had fun revisiting this on Joe Bob Briggs The Last Drive In for this episode. Always fun when two things you love coincide

Jason Desautels

When I realized there was 45 mins AFTER the hall of mirrors scene, which in any other movie would be the climax, I started to dread what's next. It kinda turns into a terminator chase which is... dumb. But really enjoyed the first half!

David McElroy

I think Rodgers is thinking of Tommy Westphall with connecting the universes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Westphall?wprov=sfla1

Marc Davis

Action Boyz, it's called the Beef Diaper and it's a very important piece of technology. It stays where you put it!

Big Junior

Gabrus, I have 2 stringer tanks from Raskol and they are pretty good quality. One I’ve had for a few years and the other my gf got me for Christmas and they’re still holding up.

Cole Trickle

Shocked no one was killed with a giant syringe like in a Itchy and Scratchy cartoon.
