Had to look it up. I guess Dan O’Bannon had a whole different ending for Total Recall. He apparently didn’t like the ending they used as per the link below 👇 Great episode :) https://mossfilm.wordpress.com/2012/08/19/total-recall-dan-obannons-lost-vision/

Identical Quinns

To be fair, Kevin Clash was acquitted and the guy who accused him recanted. But he still lost his job permanently.

Ray

Stanger; "..Clocks going off.." LMAO

tmcms

Sad how excited I was to hear Rodgers drop Anne of Green Gables at the end as someone who lives in Prince Edward Island. Excited enough to post about it as well.

Andrew Murphy

One of my favorites!

Clyde G

I bought the Brooklyn Shorty because Roger's said that was the better one. Lol. It has some damage potential. I used it mostly to smash ice bags. It's great

Filthy Phillips

To me, leaving a box full of specially printed editions of his books to his former fiancée in his will suggests that Søren the K regretted at least one choice.

Adam Lewis

I have seen this movie

Buzz

Rodgers talking about regretting every decision is so relatable. At the risk of getting made fun of for such a weird throughline, Søren Kierkegaard had a great philosophical viewpoint about how we basically regret any choice we make whether it was the right one or not, so might as well make the choice. If this was a voicemail here is where I was say "uhh" for a while. Y'all are the highlight of my weekly listens, never change.

Addison Blaylock

I love how Bill Burr the Boyz are in their grumpy take on trick or treat.

Wesley Dolan

Boarding store windows in Chicago is a total side hustle, like the citizen fleet of snow plows.

Irvin

“Can you believe we’re workin’?!?”

JeanDammeClaudeVan

I’ve got a job because the US Army Corps of Engineers built leaky things!

John

Just caught the tail end of this on MGM+ and it is the perfect movie to watch on Halloween night. Plus Shaq dressed up as Jimmy Butler tonight. 10/10 cable tv night.

Megan

I thought he was talking about pears....mealy

Squirt Russell

Zombie rain man is my new favorite thing. Thanks boyz

Daryl sakimae

Cybo-Man with a built in grapefruit for grapefruiting is one of the funniest things I've ever heard/visualized.

Scott Tammel

reviews for the new video game look good. heard you can shoot guys in the dick and they have a specific animation for it (seriously)

bloodflart

Ninjavember hasn’t even started yet and Gabrus is pushing Xmas in Shinesty. Tremendous work.

JamieQT

Return of the Living Dead is a real youtube movie for me. I remember watching it in 9 parts on my shitty family computer back in the late 2000s

Bring me the Head of Warren Oates

Classic ABZ: a quick peek into the shitty home life of Colonel Glover, speculation as to whether or not he was picking a fight with his wife over the lamb, capped off with Stanger pontificating “Maybe he was sick of that puppeteer”…which leads to the Sesame Street stuff. I look forward to this stupid shit every week, sincerely.

Joe B

I'll have to check that out. If you're a fan of the killer klowns from outer space Betsy and her roommate did a 5 or 6 episode podcast on it but I can't remember the name off hand.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

Hope you didn’t cancel Screambox before watching the exhaustive RoboCop documentary, RoboDoc.

Douglas “Scoop” Reinhardt

They did one, sort of: an old podcast called Horny 4 Horror is how I found them initially. They covered Nightbreed.

Dave McM

Not familiar, Is that a modren pronunciation?

Bengt Alexsander

On the topic of Bourdain and Fieri, someone held a roast for Bourdain and Fieri was one of the guests. Bourdain hated Fieri at the time, and Fieri got in one of the most savage roasts I’ve ever heard: “Anthony, I gotta ask a question, why do you hate me so much brother? Is it because you went to a fancy culinary school and I didn't? I hear you're the only one in class who did most of his cooking with a spoon and a Bic lighter.”

Justin Paul Strong

Gabrus, please pronounce melee correctly. It’s “maylay” not “meely”

David

Bourdain on Zombinol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don Bell

Normally I would assume that the brief egg yolk talk in the cold open is just that, and is *not* mocking the soapbox I got on in defense of the nutritional value of egg yolks in the comments several months ago, but the Boyz’ uncanny ability to remember specific loser-ish comments like mine has me questioning it

Jenn

The movie Hobgoblins also rips off this movie a ton

Frosty peaches

Watching this totally tripped me out - I used to have a boyfriend that was obsessed with it and I bet I’ve seen it 30 times but I had totally forgotten about it. It only clued me in when ABZ kept saying “split dogs”… I had to watch it tonight. A wild film!

Frosty peaches

We can’t keep track of every pedophile! You’re our pervert expert, our official “pedo guy,” where were you when we announced the movie?! Why’d you give him a full pass, Haunted Screen?!

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

yeah i'm always drunk too

I went to this as well! had a chat with Thom Mathews, he was a nice dude.

Kevin

I was in Pittsburgh a few months ago and drove around some of the Knightriders locations

Clifford

A video store VHS cover classic that I absorbed as a kid and somehow swore was deadly serious horror.

Conor Hunter

The fastest three hours of my week are the ones I spend listening to Action Boyz.

David Bauer

Back in 2021, my husband and I went to Pittsburgh for the Living Dead Weekend (yes we’re lame but I don’t care) and met all the remaining actors from this and Day of the Dead. It was fun. Linnea Quigley still looks great!

Rebe K

Shit I deleted the email for discord, I looked in my membership and I can’t find a link. Can anyone help me?

Mike Theobald

Having Toonami on recall to switch over real quick incase it got too scary, but always coming back because you’re too curious to stay away.

Ono Michio

Great episode, love this movie and Linnea Quigley really made an impact on me for some reason. I hate the coroner eating trope in movies. It’s so over played. The septic guy eating a sandwich Gabrus was talking about reminds me of my hometown. We had a septic guy just like that, but crazier. He’d eat and smoke while emptying septic tanks, and was a total asshole. Dude walked into the grocery store wearing shit covered coveralls smoking. This is mid 90’s, the store was smoke free for like 20 years. The three owner’s didn’t say shit to him, my mom had to yell at him to put out the cigarette. Guy was crazy intimidating. Dude also used to own an anaconda, a monkey, and a lion he kept in a corn-crib.

ShangDangus

Agreed. This is how I discovered "Night of the Creeps" and "Evil Dead 2" (amongst many others).

BiPolarBear

Rodgers is a real O’Bannon Total Recall truther. Check your assumptions, Stanger.

Donatello’s Big Dong

Trash, aka Linnea Quigley, has an exercise video called "Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout".

Erik Kang

Can’t believe they faked Stanger remembering it was Rocky III, and edited it in like if it was all a part of the recording.

Don Knott Steiner

Considering what fans the ABZ are of all things Bryan Singer, you gave Mr POS Brian Peck a full pass here.

Haunted Screen

heard he just died in a jacuzzi full of milk, they found a cookie lodged in his throat

bloodflart

I feel for people coming up in the streaming age. Discovering movies like this while channel surfing some October evening as a kid was wild and amazing. The closest you get now is maybe scrolling past movie stills on Netflix or whatever.

Ono Michio

This reminds me that back in either 2004 or 2005, William Stout came to Louisville and did a meet and greet and autographing session at a local video store for either the 20th anniversary of the release of the movie or the 20th anniversary of when the "true story" of the movie happened. He seemed cool. Also fun was that a local newspaper did an issue pretending the events of the movie really happened, talking about living in Louisville 20 years after the government nuked us to save the world from a zombie apocalypse. It was great and I still have my copy somewhere.

Brennan Wibbels

Hey Cookie Monster has a substance abuse problem. Show some compassion.

Gil Slits

Please, it's Prince Henry Stout, respect the title

HappyBirthdayPaulie

Should be a link in your membership section on Patreon

PatrickKilbrogan

Damn! In my excitement over becoming a member of the Zombie Squad I deleted the email

LongOnions

We've got a nice quiet podcast community here: let's not rile up the pinball people.

Adam Lewis

should get an email with a link in it when you sign up for Zombo Squad

bloodflart

I can fix her

bloodflart

either that or the first pinball machine with voices

bloodflart

I bet there's a 'day' for every calendar day of the year now. I just googled the date and it's 'National Publicist Day' today. Hooray.

bloodflart

Dumb question but how do you get on the discord? Can't find the channel

LongOnions

Trash is my dream girl. Love them trash boobs

erik nehring

Being from Louisville, Kentucky, this movie IS infamous here for having the very first shot being here aaaaaand the rest in Los Angeles.

Paul Perez

Wasn't Stangor the protagonist of a short-lived sword-and-planet paperback adventure series in the '70s?

Adam Lewis

you can just say horranger relevant news for short, or Stangor

bloodflart

unfortunately sounds like they don't like having guests on, maybe being in a studio will up our chances. I really like the change in energy and mixing of different peoples podcast personas (PPP) blended into ABZ

bloodflart

I wondered the same thing.

Adam Lewis

In horror- and Stanger-relevant news, this weekend my better half played in the orchestra for the Zombie Opera (theme: '80s prom) starring this former college and NFL player: https://www.cbsnews.com/video/tau-pupua-off-the-nfl-field-and-onto-the-opera-stage/

Adam Lewis

Been a while since we got some good 9/11 talk. Love it

Alex Elani

I don't know if they did a shadow wolves with her or not but, I hope they do a horror boyz with Betsy Sodaro someday.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

Rodgers, it’s such a coincidence you talked about that hypothetical of script idea’s getting brushed aside, and you avoid getting angry over not getting credit, is sort of similar to that recent story of the Avengers writer’s script getting completely dumped for Whedon’s, and him being upset about not getting credit.

Don Knott Steiner

William Stout? Any relation to Sir Henry Stout?

TheDemonKane

Rodgers’s “if I get a full moon I turn into a fucking asshound” line made me laugh so ridiculously hard

Brix

I think Doug is actually in Return of the Living Dead II

Bengt Alexsander

Love a 3+ hour ep
