About TWGM Expansion and our next project

Dear everyone.

I've been thinking about my next project, but here's what's been decided so far.

Please note that I've been feeling the effects of aging since I was over 30, so the target timeframe is more relaxed than my actual plan.

Future TWGM: Expansion Goals

In terms of timeframe, I'd like to get everything done by October at the latest.

Some of the ballot items that we haven't gotten around to in the past, and some of the things that were good in the idea warehouse.

Some items will be decided by voting, but the unfinished parts of the story, and the pick-up street and bar parts of Malnor city are definitive.

then some convenience update and bug fixes, and finally a remake of some resources.

Next project, TIO

I'm aiming to release the first alpha next month after TWGM: Expansion is completed.

Overall Gameplay Features

1) Variety of characters

The player begins as one of several female characters.

Shortly after Tomie is taken to another world, Tomie may wake up with Tomie's mind in another girl's body, or Tomie may wake up in Tomie's own body.

Each character will have a different appearance, abilities, and unique quests.

2) Turn-Based

Depending on how you play, you can act as an individual, or you can act from a position of control over some influential group.

After the player's actions, NPCs and factions will act according to a set algorithm.

The player character's actions will have a small impact on nearby NPCs, and a larger impact on the behavior of the factions.

As a result, players can gain higher status or access to unique quests.

However, on the flip side, they may become a prisoner of a group, or lead to a more disastrous event or ending.

For example, if Tomie, as an individual, hired mercenaries to slay a giant beast around town, the result might be that a Bandit faction, an Empire faction, or a Goblin faction would appear in the neighborhood instead.

If the Bandit faction has taken over the around, They might try to kidnap Tomie or other village women.

3) What I want the player to feel

I want the player to feel immersed in a particular character and feel like they are living a vicarious life.

In particular, I will be focusing most heavily on areas where the player's actions change the behavior of factions and nearby NPCs.

And I'll make them affect the player's behavior or goals.

- Graphical Themes

Graphically, I plan to utilize both Honey select2 and AI graphics.

The graphics will have a semi-realistic theme, and the Anim H-Scenes will be converted to AI on a frame-by-frame basis. I gave Unreal Engine one more try, but decided that it would be a good fit for the next project after TIO.

* I'll have a full patreon vote on the graphics just before finalizing it.

AI graphics, and the laws surrounding them, are changing at such a rapid pace that it may be appropriate to revisit this topic at a later date.

- Anything else i want to say

Tomie In Oddland, like TWGM and TAL, was one of the Tomie series that was already planned in 2020.

In 2020, I had a lot of dark thoughts due to some very serious problems, which led to the creation of this game series and its plot.

Over the course of three years, a lot of problems were solved, and I had a lot of different experiences while making the game.

Three years ago, TIO was the final form of the game I wanted to make, but when I revisited it recently, it didn't feel as sparky as it once did.

When I think of games that have similar feelings about TIO, I think of Crusader Kings, Mount & Blade, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13.

However, I realize that those games are quite manic and unfriendly to newcomers.

So, as befits a game with an H-game theme, I planned the gameplay system to be very streamlined, removing the parts of the game that players might find annoying, such as warfare and construction, and getting to the fun stuff quickly.

Instead of complicated planning, players simply choose one of several cards.

- What is Ollane doing now?

While finalizing all the plans, I realized that the game lacked a spark.

I always play through the game in my head before I make it.

TIO is pretty good right now, but I didn't feel like it had that special spark.

So I've been trying different things to find something to add that extra something to the game.

This may come to me quickly, or it may take a little longer.

I'm trying to think things through more carefully so I don't make the same mistakes as TAL, so please bear with me.

I'd love to hear from many of you for a spark.

Any feedback is great, so please share your advice with me.

Thanks for the feedback. It's an easy way to add new characters, so I expect TIO to be a game that will be around for quite some time. 😊
