Does any of this change how good the content is? ABSOLUTELY NOT! We still have outrageous and rather dumb remarks from Alex and very British and smart answers from Josh - your favourite double team.

2023-08-31 07:15:23 +0000 UTCi always felt like simon's dad's "oh, right" about him being gay was less aspirational and more a reflection of his being an absent father. simon acts like the adult, calmly correcting him, and it seems fairly likely that (kind of like we've also seen with nick in heartstopper) he wasn't part of simon's journey or coming out in a meaningful way. so there was never a weight to his approval.

2023-08-26 00:52:39 +0000 UTCOne of the joys of rewatching YR is that I get to comment, yet again, about the shortcomings of the closed caption translation. The captions say that August calls Simon a Socialist. What he actually says is "Sosse." He is commenting on Simon's social class as a "non-border" and therefore working class and therefore poor. Homophobia is largely absent from this story but classism is a theme. And as Alex will point out later on, carries much the same kind of stigma. I have always felt from my first watching of this series that the MAIN theme of the series is that privilege corrupts everything.

I hope you diden’t recover all the uncut reactions 😬, it would be fun to see some new reactions from you about the show like you did in heartstopper. Fun fact regarding Alex’s comment about how good the makeup was that covered the scar in Wilhelms face when he was holding his speech to the nation. Edvin Ryding the actor of Wilhelm accually has a scar under his eye due to a accident happening when he was 9 years old during a birthdayparty. He fell into a table. The production of Young Royals made the brusing and blood around Edvin’s real scar according to an Interview with the actor Edvin Ryding. Thanks again for you uncut reaction. So good 🥰.

You’re not wrong! 😂👏 I had forgotten just how hot the weather was when you guys recorded this. Sitting here in grey, cool and generally un-summery Cornwall, it seems unreal that you’re mopping up sweat! Interesting that you’re more intrigued by Simon than Wille in this episode and I remember from the edited reactions that it took a little while before you started to get involved in his character too. That’s not surprising in that he is a much more guarded character than Simon who seems much more direct and open at this early stage in their story. Gosh, it feels great to be back with Young Royals again and also to be enjoying the full, uncut experience with you guys. Looking forward to more! ❤️👑❤️

2023-08-25 13:16:37 +0000 UTCThis is so enjoyable having the full experince with all the shenaningans, randomness, clever observations etc. I had a suspescion from the start, when I first saw it, that I wouldnt like August and his group that much, and I was so right, but now seeing it again, I do(right away) feel (kinda) bad for Alexander, knowing whats to come. And yes I love the brothers together, they have a great bond. I love the song "it takes a fool to remain sane" that Simon and the choir sings, maybe you could react to it either Omars version or the original by The Ark?
