Patreon Commission for Anna

A/N: This is a reminder that you can commission for exclusive stories, too. You just have to know that these won’t be ending on Tumblr and will be posted only on Patreon, but I’m totally cool with making more parts of stories. Now, enjoy this super soft addition to alien inspector. (You can read all parts on the respective collection here).

Alien (Xyris) x fem!reader || sfw, tooth-rooting fluff || tw: health talk

You heard a roar outside, a soul breaking sound that made you got goosebumps all over your body as you turned and tossed, fever making your every fiber hurt. There was also the screaming and running, and a screeching sound that sounds like tearing metal. Are you crashing? Is the ship breaking down? Maybe that was how death sounded when it was coming to get your soul. Maybe your awful illness finally took over your body and you were dying… That didn’t sound too bad at the moment.

The metal breaking kept breaking the calm in your room. You didn’t know what was happening, but you weren’t sure you could even care at the moment. Your brain was half out of it, your feverish state making it hard for you to focus on anything but the heat licking your extremities and making you sweat.

You felt miserable, and you regretted telling the doctor you wanted it to be private, that you didn’t want Xyris to be there with you, that he shouldn’t find out. You regretted it deeply, because right now, the only thing you craved was to have his freakishly-long fingers caressing your sweaty hair as you melted against his touch.

You didn’t want to think too hard about it. You didn’t want to analyze why you wanted him to be the one caring for you when you felt so vulnerable and so, so tired. Your body kept fighting whatever illness plagued you, but it wasn’t strong enough, not yet, at least. You were barely able to move, and you spent three days on your bed getting help to eat and go to the bathroom.

As soon as you showed at the on ship clinic and told them you weren’t feeling good and Xyris shouldn’t find out, some of the doctors backed down, instantly refusing to treat you. You thought it was rude, but couldn’t figure out why they would react like that. You could only guess it was because you were human. At the end, a random alien doctor offered to treat you, on your room, and being monitored 24/7 just in case. That also felt weird, it felt like a break of protocol, but again, you weren’t about to comply when it took them so long to find a doctor willing to help.

It took you more than a day to figure out all the carefulness around you was because of Xyris. The doctor and nurses whispered about him, as if he was a scary creature that could end them if they let anything happen to you. You didn’t know what to believe, did he really care? Where they only scared because having a human die on the ship would cause an awful lot of paperwork with the intergalactic agencies? Or was there something else you didn’t know? Was really Xyris such a dangerous alien? He looked pretty normal… in a hot as hell way.

Screams cut you out of your thoughts. They sounded so much closer. There was a scratching sound against the metal walls again, and it was making your head pound as it got closer and closer. The doctor and nurse next to your bed where looking more and more concerned. You wanted to join them, to feel worried or concerned or whatever, but you could only feel the fever warming your brain as you got nauseous every time you turned your head to the side.

And then the door flew away with a horrible metal tearing sound. Literally ripped out of its hinges and throw to the side by, by… a creature.

A scary and big creature that could barely fit through the now hole in the wall. It looked like a giant insect, but also… not? It was covered in some kind of keratin exoskeleton, and it had two very long and freaky arms. Its legs looked like grasshopper legs, inverted at the knee and pointed in a way that looked dangerous. But what drove you in the most was the way its features morphed into almost a face, eyes completely white against its dark gray face plates. Maybe you were hallucinating, maybe this was all a fever dream. Maybe you should close your eyes…

The creature growled, your eyelids shot open in a second. It was breathing hard, and if you had any strength left in you, you would have screamed, or ran away, or even crawl to the floor… But you were unable to move as the creature stared at you and panted, as if it was a caged animal ready to strike. A shiver ran down your spine, the rushed words of the doctor making you break eye contact with the beast.

His words were frantic: “Commander,” only a word, but it sounded like a plea. The beast stepped into the room, making the hole in the wall bigger. The doctor tried again: “Commander, I need you to step back, you are scaring the patient, and that can be bad for her health.”

It was scaring you? Nope. You weren’t scared, you were curious about the beast at the door. But by the looks of it, the ones who were scared were them. The doctor was visibly shaking, and the poor nurse was so shocked they barely moved, barely blinked. They were frozen on the spot, their eyes big as plates as they stared at the beast. You weren’t even sure if they were breathing.

The doctor kept calling the beast “commander” and you weren’t sure what that meant. Was this beast the captain of the ship? You never saw whoever that was, you didn’t even know there was a commander on board. And why did they want anything to do with you? You were a nobody, a simple human that was, most likely, falling in love with one of the resident doctors. But nothing more, your work on the ship could be easily replaced, and you were probably more trouble than anything else. But for some reason, the commander, the beast, was there… for you.

You smelt the acrid pee before you saw the wet patch forming on the nurse’s pants. The doctor tried to talk the beast down again: “Commander, please. We’ll leave her be, but let us out. We aren’t trying to hurt her, we were helping her.” The doctor’s reasoning made sense, but by the low rumble coming from the beast, it wasn’t buying it.

“GET. OUT.” The beast’s voice was nothing but a guttural hiss and your whole body vibrated with the intensity of it. You were sure the floor also trembled when it stepped further into the room, closer to you.

The doctor grabbed the nurse’s tentacle-hand and pulled them behind him as both of them flew the room. The beast hissed at them, and they pulled back with a little scream that made your fever-ridden body let out a choked giggle. That made the beast refocus on you, leaving the poor doctor and nurse to run away before they were eaten or something.

You smiled lightly at the beast as it approached your bed. “Am I dreaming?” You asked, blinking slowly.

It sighed, the tension in its body diffusing as it stopped at the edge of the mattress. “No, little human, you are not.” Its freakishly long arms reached to touch your forehead, and it was so cold and warm at the same time. You closed your eyes, sighing happily.

You rested like that for a few minutes, its cold weird hands caressing your head as you breathing evened to something more normal. But then the caresses stropped, and you heard something akin to sticks breaking. You opened your eyes in time to see the creature morphing before you, getting smaller, the keratin plates disappearing and leaving smooth gray skin behind.

Xyris...

In other circumstances it would have been weird, and you would have had a lot more questions, but shivering because of fever and your brain can only focus on one thing: dick. “Why are you naked?” You ask, your eyes fixated in his soft alien dick.

He let out an amused huff. “Mine tore when I transformed.” He sat on the bed, his long arm reaching for your hair again, his fingers tracing the curves of your face as you sigh happily. That felt so good.

You tried to focus on the conversation, but your eyes felt so heavy. “You were… You were so different. You were… a beast?” Your voice sounded sluggish, and your brain fog was getting worse. You could feel the voice of sleep calling you.

His fingers found your hair, softly caressing your scalp as he talked softly. “That, little human… is my true form.” His admission should be a surprise, maybe even a shook, but you are too tired.

But then a new question popped into your head: “Why are you here?”

“I was worried,” he simply said, as if that confession wasn’t earth shattering in itself.

A new spike of pain hits your head, and you whined. “I don’t feel so good…”

“I know, little human. Rest now, you need it.” He sighed, getting closer to you. His voice was so soft, and his soft caresses were making you feel so cozy against the mattress…

Your eyes drop closed, your body melting against the bed as he laid next to you, his body heat making you want to burrow under his skin. He hugged you against his body, your head resting against his body. “Will you be there when I wake up?” You whisper on his chest.

“I’m not going anywhere.”
