I’d say that if the weapons are Tinkertech, it would be more unstable due to lack of maintenance and bandwidth for the shard to maintain the items

2024-12-30 13:26:51 +0000 UTCI think the story has been leaning on the idea that Gotham is different than Brockton bay, and is fundamentally hostile to an outsider like taylor.... so I think the weapons threat being from someone/something Taylor isn't familiar with is the best way of further extenuating that theme.

2024-12-29 13:36:03 +0000 UTCLate for me to answer, but yeah, no need for shard shenanigans when DC Earth has crazy tech all on its own. Unlike on Earth Bet, aliens have already made themselves known and what gear they had was lost or stolen during their visits to Earth. This will be a shock to Taylor, not realizing how crazy the world is due to only focusing on what's in front of her.
