Cloud is dragged deep within Sephiroth’s lair, to the place prepared for him and there, seeing what lies ahead, he baulks, staring with widened eyes. A steel pole with a cross-member, stark and sinister, a table, a heavy chair. These things stand waiting – and bode him no good at all. But Sephiroth smiles and gives a tug on the chain. “Come, don’t be shy: take a closer look. Yes, all this – and more – just for you. All prepared for your coming – so don’t pout and don’t sulk; I am going to train you, teach you SO many things. You are going to be the absolute centre of my attention, my own very personal attention – so come closer. And you will obey me, because you would not want your little girl getting hurt, now, would you? So stand here, with your back against this pole – that’s right, and remain still while I fit these in place. Good. Now, raise your arm – and now the other one. One moment more …. There!
