Development Update #8

Hello there!

It’s been 2 months since the latest game update and our community has grown so much since then. We thank everyone for following the project, especially our paid members, who make the further development of this game possible! We’ll make sure to work hard to meet your expectations with the next updates! Speaking of which…

It’s time to share some sneak peeks on what’s cooking for the next 0.4 build!

But first of all, we present to you our new team member - SilverGogs, who will primarily work on the clothes models. Here’s what he’s currently modeling:

NPC schedule

Of course, as per the roadmap, the main feature of the next update will be the NPC schedule system. We’ve already covered this in this post, so I won’t go into much detail here.

Basically NPC schedule will finally make Deluded feel more alive! NPCs will have their routines and some quests/events available for a certain period during the day. For this purpose, we’ve created a special type of animations - IN-LOOP-OUT, which will help us make smother transitions between NPC’s tasks.

Currently, we’ve made the full collection of animations for mom and Stuart, and started working on the animations for dad.

The programmer is currently visualizing NPC paths now, then he’ll create an interface for their schedule settings.

Mother’s tasks will include: washing dishes, resting on the porch, showering, cooking and doing yoga

Stuart’s tasks will include: practicing with a bat, throwing darts and playing console.

And you can even join him to show off your darts skills, challenge Stuart and maybe even win some money! The maximum prize will be 40 cents per game, which depends on your Grace stat.

In total, there'll be 28 routine events with NPCs to participate in.

So, most of the animations and dialogues for the NPC system are done, but the programming part at the moment is far from being complete.

Quests

As for the quests, we made one called the “Silent Observer” - help dad with fixing the TV and find something unexpected…

In addition to it, we’re creating various TV programs, which will include: sports, science, music and, of course, adult ones as well.

Possible stuff

So, if it’s gonna take a long time to implement the NPC system programming-wise, we’re gonna be adding more content. This can be:

We also made this system which will help us use 2D images to visualize notes, memories and other things. Here’s how it will approximately look:

As for the release date - as always, we probably won’t know until the very last moment. The only thing we’re sure about is that it’ll be released as soon as the NPC schedule system is finished by our programmer and implemented into the game.

There are more things I would like to talk about regarding the next update, e.g. perks/skills, the open world, the PC quest, etc, so, stay tuned for the next one!

I like where this is going. I could tell right away a ton of effort has been put into the game so far and there's more to come. This is the first Patreon project I felt like supporting.
