Elinalise is definitely my favorite supporting female character in this story. The author has a knack of introducing characters who seems flawed, especially in the lense of the modern day. But gives them layers to them to really get to know them and the "why" behind how they tick. An interesting fact of Elinalise that was kinda brushed over in the anime right around the time she meets up with Rudeus for the first time was actually concerning her role in the party. The author kinda breaks the stereotype of fantasy elves and made her into the frontliner. So she manages aggro like no other, in combat and out of combat. She know the push and pull with interactions and conflict, knowing when to be assertive and have a keen insight when to pull out. Probably why she's able to sleep with so many adventures without causing internal strife, even if she pays for said services. Cliff really is a chad... But the biggest CHAD def is Zanoba.

You might have to make a judgement call on that one since it'll never make it to a poll. The Director went on to do Look Back (short story from Chainsaw Man author). It's only an hour and is well worth your time. I'll throw it up on the Youtube stuff for voting.

2025-07-31 17:31:09 +0000 UTCReally enjoying the theory crafting and what you guys are getting so right and so wrong, so I will also limit my comments this time, with the exception of a theory of my own. Before the duel Ariel told Rudy it was something Luke himself had requested, and she didn't mind if he used his full power to beat Luke senseless. She told him that Luke is Intermediate in Sword God Style and a beginner in Water God Style. He has a magic sword that can cut steel like butter, his boots enhance a persons speed, his cloak protects from heat, his gloves increase his strength, and under his uniform he wears sword proof clothes. Rudy used his Eye of Forsight and found Luke to be slow, no he was about as fast as Linia, but he was no Eris or Ruijerd. Rudy was shocked that was all Luke could do with so many magic items. Rudy used the Sword God Style Initial Strike Arm Chop, it instantly broke Luke's arm. As Ariel leaves Rudy vows to himself that no matter what she says when the day comes Sylphie and he will be there for her. Sylphie on hearing about the duel thanks Rudy for going easy on Luke. When Rudy expresses surprise that she didn't even seem a little concerned for him, just being in a duel. He realizes that Sylphie had complete confidence in him. My own thoughts Ariel allowed and requested the duel for multiple reasons. Firstly Luke is a slacker when it comes to his swordsmanship spending more time flirting than improving. Perhaps losing so soundly to a mage, who is his younger cousin and a potential claimant for the Lordship of Millbots would shake him up? Secondly Ariel was showing not her strength, but her weakness. Rudy is taking her strength "Silent Fitz" and leaving her far more exposed. I am sure in Ariel's mind Rudy is not someone she can control, but if she can build debt. If Rudy thinks he owes her... Ariel has once again admitted she is going to try for the Asura throne. She will in her words win or die trying. She believes she owes that to those who have given their lives to see her to the throne.

Jokes aside, it’s hard to describe how much I feel George’s standpoint on marriage in the mass media and his happiness about the way show portraying this aspect of life. I don’t really remember any anime that dives into main protagonist being married and having his priorities focused around his family, and this is what makes Mushoku Tensei so unique and beautiful. Marriage is a starting point for a whole new journey, and the fact that it can be shown to people as a contrary to “never get married kids, marriage is when all fun dies” is genuinely awesome. Elinalise being grandma and her whole acknowledgment on the fact that she is what she is – a great example of the power this show has over some stupid tropes. Yes, you can enjoy sleeping with a lot of people, but at the same time, some other doors are closed for you, and ordinary family happiness is something that sounds like a paradise you do not deserve. Makes Cliff all the more important for her, even more than she shows, probably. It could be that he is one of the very few who loves her, not wants to sleep with her. I do hope their relationships will be stable and strong, they both deserve it, despite the fact that he is still a young boy and she is probably hundred(s) years old. Nanahosi’s cries made my soul shatter. Her VA has done stellar job, if you would say that someone came to her room while she was recording and said that her relative passed away, and THIS is her reaction we hear – I would easily believe you, ten toes down. And her song is beautiful. This is a song about going away from your hometown and from the one you love, and promising that one day you will see each other again. A very symbolic choice, and props to VA again, she has done so good job that I will say the whole episode was her time to shine. Rudy being reincarnated and the whole problem of coming clean is a great discussion overall, and it poses an interesting question. This information will be difficult on Sylphie, and some could say that you have to be transparent about everything, but from other side, some dark secrets could be only yours and it will be hanging over your soul, not theirs. There is no 100% correct answer, and by these words you can summarize the whole show. This time, I will leave just one piece of cut content, because it might feel leading otherwise. 1. Interspecies families have problem with conceiving in general, and elves are less fertile. And we are in the medieval times, people generally think that a heir to the family is very, very important, especially in noble families, which Rudy Is still a part of.
